Lightbulb Bangalore to Mandegadda (Midway of Thirthahalli - Shimoga)

Route:-
Onward- Tumkur(Bypass)-Gubbi-Tiptur-Arsikere-Birur-Kadur-Tarikere-Lakkavalli-Singanamane-Muthinakoppa-MANDEGADDA.
Return- MANDAGADDA-Muthinakoppa-Narasimharajapura-(36KM)- BALEHONNUR -ALDUR-Chikmagalur-Belur-Halebid-Hagare-(20KM) - Hassan(Bypass)-Kunigel-Nelamangala-Bangalore.
KM - 714 KM. Road condition is avg in some of the place. From Halebid come via Hagare. If you drive 10KM you can reach High Way and also it is quite nice.Dont take the direct root to Hassan from Halebid. From Aldur there is direct root to Belur too if you dont wanna visit Chikmagalur.

Place I Visited : Bhadravathi Resourvour at Lakkavalli,Kuvempu Univ, Tunga River, MANDEGADDA Bird sanctuaries, Chikmagalur, Belur, Halebid.

Accomadation : I stayed at Inchara Homestay at MANDEGADDA which is off road on the Thithahalli-Simoga Highway. Nice place to stay with your family at very reasonable price. Nicely maintained room and sorrounding area. Food is also very delicious no word to explain. It has almost 4 cottage with nice sorrunding of garden and playing area. It also has a small fire place and trekking place. Walking early morning inside the estate is really enjoyable.

Inchara home stay is a beautiful place to stay, the hospitality Mr. Ramesh offers makes you feel at home away from Home, have been there couple of times. There is a birds santuary there too.

Default A small correction

Its Mandagadde not Mandegadda.

One more interesting place between Mandagadde and Shimoga is Sakrebylu. This is an elephant training camp. Just like Dubare one can get up-close and personal with elephants here. But unlike Dubare this place has almost no visitors.

Saw several boards mentioning about the elephant training camp when we visited the Vihangama (10km before Thirthahalli on Shimgo-thirthahalli bypass). Seems like, next time we should do it.

Sowmya and other folks I am planning to go Shimoga for some work on 3rd Oct. I need to see one doctor there on 3rd morning. Starting early morning from Bangalore on 2nd Oct.
So which places should I see before I reach Shimoga. I don't want to waste my 2nd evening.
I would be staying at Shimoga city.

3rd I am not sure how much time I will take to see the doctor. As per my understanding would be free by 3:00 PM. This day will see places nearby like Gajnur dam etc
4th I am Planning to go Jog falls and back to Bangalore
