Default Himachal Pradesh - Stories in Pictures

We were in Himachal Pradesh on a 2 week winter vacation trip. Although our prime goal was to experience snow and the chill, unfortunately it didn't start snowing until we reached back home.

This isn't actually a travelog but just a random collection of pictures we took on our triip. However I will be glad to answer any questions which can help you plan your trip!

Cool, reminds me of the 10 day, monsoon vacation I took in Himachal last year. Those mountains, valleys, rivers, all mountains things are so mesmerizing. The snow has a tendency to evade those who come looking most for it I gather from various recounts I have heard! Good pictures too, especially the sunset one. I wish our lives were as peaceful as that sunset. The pic could have used a less cluttered foreground, though I guess that's just the traffic.

From the pictures, it seems you did experience snow and the chill after all. Unless you meant 'snowfall' and -20 degrees cold.

Watashi, great pictures and it certainly seems like you experienced snow. I was far from that. As everyone already mentioned, the sunset pic is the best of the lot. I reckon you used the trees in the foreground to create more drama in the picture

Btw, where did you stay in Shimla and Manali, some more details of your experience would have made an interesting read.

As humans it is natural to want more!

We stayed in HPTDC hotels all throughout. In Shimla it was Holiday Home, in Manali it was Kunzum, in Khajjiar it was Khajji Cottage, in Dharamshala it was Dhauladhar.

There is nothing much to say about the trip. We stuck to the popular tourist circuits. In each place we would hire a taxi for sight seeing around the place and next day we would go alone and explore a bit on foot and do a bit of shopping. The one significant experience we had on this trip was we managed to catch a glimpse of Dalai Lama!

All said, we would like to cover this circuit again by car some day.
