Amazing place to be on bikes.
Most of the pics are inviting for a 4X4 to be there!

Tani Jubbal@kotgarh.

@Nitin riding in snow is fun.

@Dj I was runing on Duro Tubeless tyres at both ends, normal road tyres.
and they were slipping like mad, still managed without any spills.
other Zma had Ceat dual purpose at both ends.

@Pulsar you dont really need a 4X4 here if you come across solid ice nothing works.
and bikes usually take you most of the places where a 4X4 can barring few stretches like deep slush or water crossings(if you are ready to get dirty bikes can go across these too)

Nice trip to HP on bikes. I was unlucky to not spot any snow as i was about a week late.

Btw, is it Naldhera or Narkhanda? I happen to visit Naldhera late Dec'08 and saw exactly the same tall pine trees there, so was wondering.

Cool pictures of the snow and fog, it must have been a really thrilling ride.

Naldehra and narkana are different places
naldehra is 22 odd kms from shimla where you have that golf course along the road.
Narkana is 66kms from shimla on NH-22

Nice pics. We southies (especially me) only can dream of going in snow in bikes. Good to see them venturing out in snow. BTW, if the tyres does not have proper grip, then it might be very slippery right?

tyres usually dont have grip on ice.
its easier to ride in fresh snow.
key is to keep the momentum and avoid sudden acceleration and braking
