Hi Abhi
Thats a super trip you have done!
Great snaps of the tea estates in Munnar. I can see that you have done some tea shopping next to T&U resort.
What is the top speed you reached? What is the FE? How does the tyres sound on good roads.. Noisy? Are they Yokohama tyres?

Regards
Pramod

Thanks, I bought tea yes
Road noise was not something that I noticed, so it definitely was not an issue. Yes those are Yokohama ES100's and are super soft and comfortable and in addition provide tremendous amount of road grip. I wouldn't have gone above 140kmph, that too on the GQ stretch to Kolhapur. I am not much of a top speed guy and enjoy the look of the cars more than the top speed they can achieve, so was not racing much. Will post FE tomorrow.

The tires are hardly noisy as I mentioned, 195/60 R14 does not have a major footprint so its decently balanced and hopefully does not exert much pressure on the power steering when the steering is rotated from end to end while parking and reversing on hard tarmac or concrete surfaces. 205's would have been a bit too much I thought. These come easily inside the wheel arches and look BMW'ish when the car was fully loaded at the rear. I am definitely buying the Yoko's next time and will probably upgrade to 16 inch rims too. I heard that these ES100's give great comfort on even 16 inch rims. An OHC has just got them on team-bhp.

The last four pics were in Kumarakom. The car was clicked a lot, much to my wife's irritation.

I wouldn't worry much on that count if I were you, pal. Your red Fiesta with those alloys & that spoiler is definitely a class above any Indicab.
Nice pics once again.

I did not go to Katari Bagh, I drove alone for 22 hours, I mean I did not want wife to drive on the highway, I anyways wouldn't be able to rest at all sitting in the pillion seat that way and she driving on NH17.

You are right, I did a bit of NH47 in the end, towards Kochi and when I ocassionally drove out from there to nearby places. I think it started from Thrissur or someeplace, not sure. I was staying at Edapally, for as long as I was in Ernakulam.

Oh yes about the car, It surprised me completely. We loaded it fully, 2 large suitcases, 1 large bag, another picnic basket kind of bag, lots of water, A blaupunkt Gtb 300 was already there in the boot, a/c on 95% of the time. The handling was awesome on the ghats, it stuck on to the tarmac and infact I was going really fast on the twisties to get that bit of a hint from the car "hey I can't hold on to the road more than this" but it never came seriously. I held on everytime and everywhere at all angles. Power was more than adequate for the NH17 and I remember I had driven 16 hours at a stretch once in my Matiz while coming from Jalandhar to Pune and I was kinda tired. This 22hour single day stretch was easy done in the Fiesta. Imagine I was dying to drive it again the next day, only after that trip, otherwise who wants to drive in Camp, Pune

Will post mileage figures tomorrow.
