That's the Kannada word, but in Tulu it is known as Mundu, same as Malayalam.

BTW, where is Sam[undu] Kapasi?

Kerala lungis are often brilliant colours, even floral patterns like dress fabrics almost. In TN the lungi is of a much more discrete pattern. Mallus wear curtain fabric, Tamils wear towel fabric!

The vesti/mundu, once tied properly, will stay that way for hours; really there is no need for frequent adjustment!

This is, of course, a flying teashop!

The pilot may be able to do a little flying, but his main qualification will be that of tea master

Near my wife's place at Chengannur, there is a firang settlement called Anandavadi or valley of happiness. While strolling around Anandavadi, I was feeling out of place with firangs wearing mundu and me in my jeans!

Wow Mundu clad guy on an HD. Advantage of riding(a mo-bike) wearing mundu is the strategically placed air intake to cool down the "Engine" .

There is a certain technique involved in this whole mundu/lungi issue. If you use this technique, it will stay there forever without any adjustment required.

Mr.Kapasi onnum mundunnillallo? (Mr.Kapasi remains silent?).

The "certain technique" that worked for me is simple: just forget that you are wearing a mundu and walk normally.

Yeah. You can forget about it until the onlookers remind you.

Oh my God, I cant believe an Yeti thread getting hijacked by the mundu group !!! Last time I checked was 24 hours back, posted my 2 cents too on the mundu part. Now this is getting totally out of control. People who are checking this thread for the first time will think, Sam has dropped his JBL business and started a dealership of MCR Mundu somewhere in Bad Nauheim !!
