Hi Tanveer,

Is there any permission required to visit Hanle Observatory and see the giant telescope. If so where does one get that permission?

No permission is required for visiting the observatory.
Just make sure you visit before the sun sets.
They will happily show you around,

Had a chance to go through the travelogue in entirety today. Brilliant work Tanveer. I must say that for me, it definitely would be an inspiration to own a 4X4, travel to amazing places like these and most importantly experience the beauty of nature in its purest form. No words can explain the quality work that you have put in on this travelogue. Many thanks

Not sure if you have got a chance to read up his latest adventure - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...all-again.html (18 Passes, 15 lakes and 2 breakdowns : Ladakh and Lahaul call again)
This is simply superb Part 2. Surely have fell in love with the land and its waters!

Hi tanveer,
Few queries yet again
1. I perceive this was your first trip to Ladakh , you mentioned two water crossings in the Wari La sector. These water crossings were again experienced in your second trip in the subsequent trips. What was the difference wrt to the water crossings between both the trips. Did the road conditions improve in the following years on this sector. How would you rate the sedan doing the same water crossing in present times.

2. The Pagal nullah has since been bridged with a permanent bridge since this first trip that you undertook. Is this correct to say ?

3. The Douthling GH , do you have any contact number.

4. The booking at Hanle at the observatory , how did you manage that. What about the contact number of the person who took you in the 407 towards the lakes in the subsequent trips.

I guess i ask too many queries but then i know you have all the answers .

regards
sumit
