Day 9, September 20th, 2009
Diskit - Khalsar - Wari La - Sakti - Chang La - Tangtse - Pangong Tso - Tangtse.

We started at 06:30AM from Diskit. Today the convoy had six cars, since the Pajero left the trip and returned home.

Our first challenge was to climb Wari La, which was around 80KM away from Diskit. We decided to take Wari La since we can avoid a return via Leh to Pangong Tso lake. This would bye pass Leh and will join directly at Shakti. This would save us quite a lot of time.

The roads were pretty much good, but there we faced slight difficulty in climbing. Glenn was not well and he had difficulties in pushing his car till Wari La. At times we got down and made the vehicle lighter so that it can climb. Wari La was a challenge and slowly every car made it.

The occupants are out walking up. Slowly the Scorpios sweat it out to the top.

Nice photos. Note the deep, dark blue of the sky. Way up high, later in the season, there is less atmosphere between you and outer space.

If you look closely at the mountains and rock, their color is not a wasteland but a very subtle beauty. It is so dry and high, the sky so dark, the rocks look almost as if they were lit from within.

Well who knew it was going to be more worse later on. To sum it up the day ended with some very immature outbursts and actions due to manipulation and concealing of facts by a convoy member which prevented another convoy member from achieving his plan, and the others wondering what went wrong.
Surprising that GK never mentioned that during the trip - he shifted to my car because the car he was on was having difficulties climbing up some of the slopes (thanks to a defective accelerator pedal sensor, discovered later), and the shift was intended to reduce the load in the car he was travelling in earlier.

That is a very cryptic mail there - maybe some additional info will help!

That topic is very clearly a few days before this day due to some one deciding that there must be a shuffle for some odd reasons. Point here is that why were we forced in to such situations by someone who was not even there in the convoy during that time. I do not want to decrypt that any further.

For this day, you are right.

MC meant the official second. If you discount the unofficial M La, then he is right
