Mr Ketkar, do not build impressions by just reading few texts, if you have confusion, wait for chance to meet him,

and if you are so sure about your impression about him, stay here for some more time, and you will surely regret what you build initially.

Anyways have a great stay at TBHP

@HVK: Aah... you're the man after my heart. The one time I drove DEL-BOM in May 2009, the time was approximately 19 hours (24 hours to Pune, got lost in BOM with a failed GPS and no maps). DEL-CCU in less than 24 hours, best time 21 hours - when the Allahabad bypass wasn't open. Now that it is, will check times again in December.

Rudro-da, there was a time in the 90's when I've driven DEL-CCU (or CCU-DEL) in an Amby in 46 hours, and an Omni in 58 hours. The Omni trip was one week before our wedding (1996), and folks in CCU thought we had gone missing in the wilderness of Bihar, car and all. No cellphones in that era, and STD call booths were not really functional on the NH2 through BR. But then I've gone totally . Apologies.

Dear Rajiv, Kaiserketkar is actually Dr. Mandar who also was part of the trip. As a matter of fact I think he has done more trips with HVK than most of the people here in the forum. Mandar's comment was meant in jest and good humour. For all those who don't know HVK also has great capability to pen amazing Limericks. Chief please bring them on, LOL!!!

Chevylover and Lalu, I suggest stopping this angle of discussion here itself as the same has been deliberated between concerned parties at the appropriate platform.

Mandar dada, sorry for early whiplash, I need to improve my humor quotient.

And 30 mins are over, so can not even change the text, other than feeling embarrassed

Well internet is a confusing place I agree.

As regards to Mandar, he is a man of many names. Some call him DM, some call him MK. He himself prefers to cal himself KK.

But I only call him DMK.

Well, the Darjeeling-Sikkhim-Bhutan bike ride of 1994 was quite crazy. I drove solo back from Paro (Bhutan) - around 2,800 kms - in 4 day and 3 nights, in 2 legs, first from Paro-Keonjhar (Orissa) in 42 hours, and then from Keonjhar to Bombay in 46 hours. You can read the log trip of that drive in:
H V Kumar - Driving Log Books - KUMAR'S DRIVING LOG BOOKS Bombay to Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Sikkhim, Bhutan by bike, Apr 1994

Hey,kaiserketkar, wasn't that good math?

These shots are from Bisle ghats. I got into the ghats from Kodlipet side and got out at Shiradi.
