I intend to stay for a day for some work and fly back, leaving the car in New Delhi - with some very capable friends.

Clue: Pimp my Nano.

The color is just so cool for the Pimping. I wonder where the woofers will be put and how you will get that Volume of Air. The Nano is in for some serious sheet metal testing.

I can already imagine another thread on the Pimping part.

Systematic retail? You mean People who did not participate in the lottery will get them. That would be interesting if that is the case.

How many strings did you pull to get one Sam

Why not? Will speak to you about it. Do see to it that you carry all the necessities including a first aid kit as well.

So the Nano electricals are capable enough to take up the heavy installs of audio.

Wow a Bombay-Delhi drive in a Nano, Cool!

If the car makes it to Delhi without any problems, the tata guys should make it a PR coup. What an opportunity!

All the best.

Thumbs up Best of luck

Hi Sam,

Best of luck for your journey, Please drive safely . I would suggest you to put on balloon stopper on jerry fuel can like tanvir did ( http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...ml#post1485471 (5000kms and 12 Passes, a 20 day wild wild ride to the roof of the world!) ). That will take care whiff of gasoline. Also please plan on carrying a spare try as I think that factory fitted should not be used as regular replacement.

If you can spare some time, we would be delighted to plan a “Delhi meat” .Please do let us know.

kind Regards,

Gaurav

There is no place in the front. The rear has the engine and is boiling hot.

Placing it on the rear seat will mean a constant whiff of gasoline...
Perhaps you could put the stepney in the rear and a (smaller?) jerry can of petrol in the front boot?

You'll probably be alright even without a jerry can; petrol pumps aren't too hard to find on highways... are they?

Spend the night in Udaipur and hopefully in another 13 to 14 hours we can be in New Delhi.
Unfortunately Sam there is a small hitch in this theory. Although on paper it sounds very doable actually maintaining 60kmph is not always very easy. This is particularly so if you pass by a large number of densely populated areas, which I believe you will. I am saying this from my experiences with long distance travel.

Again, I suspect you may need a lot of intermittent breaks as the Nano's small engine may not really be able to take the long ardous journey unless it gets regularl cooling-off periods in between, which automatically means a drop in average speed.

If I were to be doing this journey I will think of carrying enough food material in the car and at every 250 kms fuel-stops I will try to combine my break and the car's break period to take a 10-15 minutes halt. It is probably better not to take any breaks in-between as far as possible. This is specifically because the total time for the journey is fixed and I am assuming you will not be game for a night drive and reduce your sleep time.
