Default Nano on fire!!!

TOI - 22nd October.

"TATA Motors said it may undertake a pre-emptive check on the 7,500-odd Nanos that have been delivered till date after a faulty combination switch in the world’s cheapest car resulted in fires in at least three cases across the country."

Sam, did you happen to go through this article in TOI ? This might call for a visit to the Tata A.S.S.

With November another couple of days away, looks like the yeti is already gone into hibernation.

Default Mumbai to Delhi in the Nano - reboot/ Day Two

We fill up again at Deogarh and NC offers to take the wheel over.

Nahi, mein Ajmer tak chalayega.
Kya yaar, theek hai chala.

We continue driving through Rajasthan.

Word comes in that it is raining heavily in Mumbai and Goa is flooded. We have a few spots of rain too, but it is lovely and makes the weather cool and nice. We have not put the Aircon on since we left.

Well, there's a truck that cannot be traced, lol

Truckers have some amazing things they write and hang on their truck. A picture of a truck-hangy-thingy-shop.

More pictures of funny rural traffic.

While it is funny, it is getting annoying. It is hard to drive even for a kilometre without using the clutch, brake and gears.

An hour after Deogarh, I have lost interest in driving, much to Gautam's delight.

He takes over the wheel, but gives in to despair as we start dodgning traffic. This is not fun.

A few kilometres before Ajmer:

There, I saw a small thin clean road with a small sign that said delhi.
But we are on NH8 on our way to Ajmer.
I know.

Gautam pauses.
Want to take that road?
Why not?

In a split second he decides to take a U turn. We drive back a few hundred metres and turn left onto NH79a.
Why? We both have no idea. Just followed instinct I guess. We were fed up of the trucks, perhaps.

A toll naka comes up soon after the turn. The guys are very amused by our little monster.

Sir, yeh charging wali gaadi hai na?
Nahi, says NC a little angrily. Yeh tumko Reva dikhti hai kya? Yeh Tata ka Nano hai.
Achha Sir, pehli baar aayi hai hamare toll nake par.
Toh paise mat lo,
says NC with a straight face.
Arrey nahi Sir, aise-kaise...
