I am rivetted to this thread now. And what does "The one" have to say about the nano and your trip? Her perspective will be interesting.

I would have thought you would opt for a Nano in orange, Sam.. or, is that on the cards?!

Would love to see how the pimped out version looks like.

Any plans on getting the hot yellow painted the hot JBL orange (assuming it can be repainted and not a fibre shell)?? Can't wait to read and see more of this thread in the coming few days. ALl the best, drive safe and wish you an enjoyable adventure at the end of it!

At 111kmph the car simply cuts off. I suspect that the petrol supply is purposely cut off to the engine.
Yes. The production version is subject to this limitation, though the car itself can do 120 with 4 adults & A/c (Though I suspect it wont get there in a hurry). (As told to me by my SA).

A Yeti in a Nano! Even the pioneers at TATA would not have thought of such a scenario!

Sam, have a great trip and drive safe. Only point of concern (repeating what is mentioned earlier by others) is the jerry can of fuel, especially with your note on the hot boot of the Nano!

And yes, do ensure to have the batteries charged and also some spare ones. Do not want you to run out of charge in the middle of the marathon.

The body is a standard metal one, not unlike other cars.

Hi Sam,
It will not be a wise idea to carry petrol in the car. Specially when the petrol bunks are abundant on this road. Refer to HVK's logs to plan your pit stops.

I have done this route twice in the last 20 days. Averaging 60kmph till Udaipur is a stretch. Given that you are starting at 5:00 you will get a lot of taffic till Surat. If you can advance it to 4:00, some o this traffic can be avoided. The toll gate before Manor can take you 15 minutes at that hour in the morning.

Still I would say a morning start and reaching Udaipur by dinner is doable.
I would re-iterate, keep the gas out of the car. It is not safe at all. We all will be concerned for you and NC.

Carry a lot of drinking water and food. Amul lassi and chhaas if you like it. Shall save you time by not stopping except for fuel.

All the best!

This certainly is going to one great trip. All the best Gautam and Sam.

Please donot attempt to carry the fuel along. It could be risky.

Have a safe journey.

Good plan.

BUT Nano is for City use not highway use. So posting coming soon travelogue of Nano travel thats from Mumbai to Delhi sounds not good in the interest of TBHP. This might create bad environment according to me.

I feel you are joking about Nano drive. I personally feel driving Nano in highway over speed of 80kmph constantly in short span of time between Mumbai-Delhi should not be posted in public Forum

Anyway all the best!

Ravi.
