I've climbed it too. I was surprised to see the spotted deer when I climbed up. Never knew those things were there when we took the cab most of the times. I incidentally had a race with another guy climbing up (he wasn't aware of the race. I decided to race him just for the heck of it). I managed to pull ahead and reach up before he did. I was barefoot and he had reeboks on. It was sad to see some people climbing up with shoes on.

They have started a system for quick (seeghra) darshan for Rs 300. Works pretty well, no agents required. We could complete Darshan in less than 2 hrs during w/e. Week days I heard it takes less than 1 hr

@ lancer & shogun,
yes u can start climbing @ 7-00 or 8-00 pm. They have provided sufficient illumination during night times & early morning.
My friends have climbed in early morning @4-00am.
As far as my knowledge they will close the gates in between 11-00Pm to 4-00Am for both vehicular road & foot hill steps.

Hey Sree
My advice would be occassional 150 is alright if the roads are good and tempting but don't try photographing(either u or the co-driver) at that speeds
because anything can happen in a split second.

Hey Sree,

Loved the pics especially the forest clouds one. Good to see the deer in the open.

One of the many times, I climbed, it was raining and there was a water fall on the road. Since it was morning, we just took the liberty of taking a bath there itself! What a sublime experience was, crystal clear and picture perfect surrounding.

Though I wont say, it was the same when were leaving. There was a crowd that had gathered and every one wanted to take a bath. We had caused a a mini-jam there! But boy! what an experience it was.

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this question as i do not see too much activity. I am planning for a trip to Tirupati sometime in March/April and will be travelling with my family and a 11 month old son. He is the purpose of this visit. The plan is to drive up to the foot of the hills and walk up the hills. The question I had was, where do I park the car and is it allowed and is it safe to park as there would be some luggage left in the car as I have plans of an onward journey from Tirupathi.

Mods, please repost this question to the right forum, if this is the wrong thread. I apologize
