Day 1, November 27th 2009

Bangalore - Mysore - Nanjangud - Gundulpet - Bandipur - Mudumalai (Tepekkadu) - Masinagudi - Kalhatty Falls - OOTY - Love Dale - Coonor - Sims Park - Lambs Rock - Kattapattu - Kotagiri - Kodanadu - Kotagiri - OOTY. (415Kms).

We started as usual - an early start from Bangalore - at 03:45AM. The good roads till Mysore can be covered fast and can also drive through Mysore instead of the Mysore Outer ring road in the early morning. We exited Mysore by 06:00AM. We drove through Nanjangud to Gundulpet. From Gundulpet around 9KM is very bad, but swift took it with grace. We then drove through Bandipur, Mudumalai (Tamil Nadu) and we got the Left turn to Masinagudi by 07:40AM. Straight road is via Gudalur to Ooty. This road we had kept for our return trip. We climbed many of the 36 hairpins before we stopped at Kalhatti Waterfalls by 08:15AM. We had a 1 hour break here. Ooty is 9KM, 15 minutes from here.

We have comfortably reached Ooty in 4.5hours from Bangalore.

Amazing pictures there, It seems you have learnt a lot about photography from the Leh trip and practiced the learnings on this trip.

i also plan to go to Ooty during year end. your travelogue would help ofcourse.

Thanks dude for keeping up the words. Makes me njostalgic when i had been to all these paces just after marriage. last month i had been to bandipur and the roads were in the same condition. So i feel now also it is the same situation. You have covered good distnace in 4.5 hours and that too with ghat section
