Hey Robin,

Great going! The North East is special in many ways, right from scenic beauty and sheer diversity of cultures. I must confess that even though I am from Assam I have not been able to visit this beautiful place. Your travelogue might just do the trick in pushing me make the trip.

Arunachal remains completely untapped and so are the beautiful valleys of the other six sisters (or is it seven with Sikkim included ?)

Great goind keep em coming!

@kaushik: I don't thinks there is any self drive service out here..can't even imagine hertz/avis esp self driven by tourists out here in such horrendous traffic and roads

OT: Finally I am a BHPian..feels great to shed the Newbie status

shall continue with more pictures soon

Well as the light faded into the horizon it was time for us to head back to Guwahati thereby ending our short yet beautiful trip..

I would like thank everyone again for all the appreciation and feedback over the last couple of weeks or so.

I do have some more pictures which I may post if anybody is interested. But I guess all of you have had enough of ArP and Nameri NP already.

So a few parting shots..

Light filtering through the trees..

Robi, unless the pictures are strictly personal, we definitely would like to have you share them with us. Your photographic skills are admirable, and it would be unfair to subscribers to your thread if you don't upload them.

And no, speaking for myself, I haven't had a decent tasting (forget having enough) of AR and Nameri! Your thread just whetted my appetite to go take a look myself soon (no, not in January 2010 though... )

Hi Robi,

Do you use any kind of filter with your camera? Or while compressing the pictures, you use an Instant Fix/Auto Fix option. The colours are really nice is the pictures.

Also the picture of the Dining Hall at Eco Camp (they had one with a thatched roof when I was there, this must be a new construction) taken with the help of a tripod?

Been struggling with these kind of pictures, hence the need for advise.

Coming from you it sure means a lot...thanks. I love photography though I seldom find enough time for it.

@SS Traveller: when a seasoned traveler like you makes a request, how can I refuse..will surely upload soon. Currently stuck with work

@HKB: In some of the pictures I did use a Hoya CPL just when I thought the light was a tad too harsh. But I don't use any Auto Fix solution..just some cropping, contrast and saturation adjustments in photoshop CS3. If you are overwhelmed by Photoshop, you can try Capture One Pro. I use Irfanview for batch compressing (hate those jpeg compression artifacts though)

I definitely use a tripod whenever I feel it would give me a better shot. I believe if you really love photography carrying your tripod with you is an absolute must. PM me if you need any further tips, I am happy to share the little I know.

@kaushik: sure can start a new thread at the meet section..

@midlifecrisis: Haha..no man I am not a professional photographer stuck with medicine. I am just an amateur with some passion for photography.

Light filtering through trees is an excellent snap.Keep going about your Nameri trip. The camp tents seems to be good hope the mosquitoes were kept at their bays.
