Well 26th january is off for every one isn't it
Moreover I have seen that you should never let go of holidays which fall on friday or thursday. That way take one day off and have 4 days in case of latter, and in case of former, go for a 3 day long weekend trip!

You have me sighing again Tsk! Beautiful shots - the river looks beautiful.

I remember the FRH at Kalatope - quite an idyllic setting complete with flowers - will go back & stay there someday. Have to find a way to escape the hordes of tourists who descend in the day courtesy HPTDC tourist buses.

Tanveer Bhai, why don't you consider writing a book on your travel experiences? Make good use of your narration and photography skills. Revenue for you, reading pleasure for us. Bhpians should get 50% off

tsk1979,
"A photograph is first shot in the mind".
Work of art - composition and photography done by you. The vivid colours, elements, star trails, skyscapes and landscapes all which bring out what was there to us.
Wonderful! thanks for sharing.
Regards,

Your beautiful photograph inspired me to colour it as our national flag.

I have a question. I had once read it somewhere here or another place not to point the camera directly towards the sun
as it may permanently damage your CCD.
Is that true and what precauions did you take while taking the above shots.

Thanks for your comments everyone
@amip, after 5pm no tourists can enter, only residents, so for evening its actually quite idyllic. Moreover the tourists go down to Khajjar. If you are adventurous, go towards dain kund on Air Force station road, and then its a 1.5kms trek to the best viewpoint in the area

Its approx 550kms to Kalatop from Delhi.
Route is Delhi-Ludhiana-Jalandhar-Pathankot-Dalhousie-Kalatop
Total driving time is approx 10-11 hours

No HDR, I rarely do HDR because I totally suck at it

Its actually the shutter curtain which can get fried. So it was click and move away. Moreover, the sun was evening setting sun, so not much issue. However, sometimes if the setting sun is not weak, I use a ND filter
