Good. You took the cable car! Sad that someone voted this as terrible. It's really refreshing. I'm waiting for your singapore side of story to unfold. This definitely deserves more than 4.5 stars.
Readers - Did someone click on terrible by mistake?

You could have cut your cost further had you taken the bus (they give a combo ticket that includes transport, entrance ticket, one complementary ride, complementary stuff at the casino, and cable car all inclusive.
Also you could have avoided some costs on the separate trip to Batu. It comes on the way to genting. Just told that because this whole trip was on a shoe string budget.

I am sorry for the reader who voted this thread as terrible, i have made all efforts to make this travelogue readable but.....
Don't worry Ashish. There are all types of readers here. May be he/she was expecting something different on Malaysia and Singapore.

But we are enjoying it. Your snaps are excellent and your sense of humor in your narration is also very good. Don't worry and keep the travelogue going the way it is being done till now. A five star rated thread. Not everybody can present such a detailed information the way you have done. It will help as a tour guide for the first timers who are going to Malaysia and Singapore on their own .

Now waiting for Raja Babus to reach Singapore.

Ashish, don't bother too much about the ratings - look at the response (replies) you are getting. The travelogue is unique & interesting to say the least. Looking forward to the Singapore part of the journey.

As earlier quoted, we were interested in golden package for travel to Genting in which all the stuff you mentioned are present.
The tickets for the same are issued at kl sentral only and we never went to kl sentral for Genting bus.
Friday, sat and Sunday were holiday in Malaysia and there was mad rush.
Regarding Batu caves on the way to Genting, we reserved entire day for Genting only and our trip to Batu caves costed us less than 10rm.

As everyone quoted earlier in my another thread in route query section,
one day [ 13 hours] in Singapore is too short time.
My aim of Singapore visit was to give glimpse of Singapore to our guys so that they will be cherished to take their family to that spot.
Now, everyone is demanding a special family trip to Singapore.

Btw, i have lot of pics of singapore.
Special pics of street modelling at orchard road are reserved for team-bhp.

5 from my side too!
I missed one bus from KL sentral when I took my wife. So We had to wait for the next one. But for some strange reason, a couple from the immediate next bus decided to skip their trip and their seats were offered to us.
So we just had to wait for 15 - 20 mins.
That flying coaster was a let down for me. They charged 20 RM. My wife enjoyed it though. We hid the fact that she had a fracture on her leg though. It hurt her a bit as we are expected to stand on those first till the rotate us and make us horizontal. It's not like the other coasters where you sit with your feet dangling.
It was good.

Street modelling doesn't happen all the time sir. That's why you'd have missed it. Anyway, whenever I went to orchard, I was more interested in the huge panasonic tv that was kept there. Monster size!

I'm curious to know how much the trip cost you. My brother & myself went to Malaysia to watch Formula 1, and it cost us Rs. 80,000 - including shopping expenses - for a 3 or 4 day trip. We bought a lots of junk from Malaysia - out of which only my F1 keychain survives.

Other than personal shopping, it would have cost us around Rs. 60,000 for 2 persons.
Malaysia has been my first and last "foreign trip". Didn't seem like value for money to me. But I guess with some planning, one can have frugal foreign holidays.
