Default My 1st Travelogue at TBHP..Visited Mathura in my Zen....

Heya guys..

This is my first travelogue thingy on T-bhp..This one would be a small one, and this will also provide some feed for "wacky on road" and some other threads too ..

Lets start from the beginning..

My wife called up and told that her Dadaji's elder bro is celebrating their 50th Marriage Anniversary at Giriraj ji, they have booked a farm house and a dharamhala..There will be some pooja and all stuff..and all her family members would be going (she is from a joint family, a total of 42 members, staying under 1 roof, I have even suggested them to get a new Pin code for their own...lol)

I was excited because I too wanted to go for a long drive, and here was the reason..But my wifey insisted on going with my inlaws, because they were hiring a cab (innova or tavera), as their driver was on leave (otherwise they have a ford fiesta) ..

I was also thinking of changing the shockers and get the alignment done before I could leave, however, that plan was dropped by now...
I did replaced the shockers and all repairing done, however, after I came back from Giriraj ji..

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/1785433-post31.html

We had to leave on 13th March 2010 (Saturday) and on the day on departure, my wifey tells me that we have 4 big bags to carry, so I have to take my car too..my dad and younger bro, canceled their programme as both had some urgent meeting in their respective offices..
(as in the tavera, my mom dad in law and 2 sis in laws were traveling) and the last seat will then be full of the luggage)

I was desperately waiting for this one..However, it was too late to get the shockers and alignment done..

anyway, I packed my bags and some how adjusted them at the rear seat of my ride, as there is a Customized box in rear to fit in Sub and Speakers

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...asic-mods.html (My Zen LXi wth some Basic Mods)

I checked my TO-DO-LIST before leaving:

1. Rs. 1000 petrol was already there in the fuel tank, so I decided to top up while returning back if required..

2. Burned a maxell cd with groovy songs...

3. 4 Kingfisher pint for evening time at mathura (I hide them in the rear pockets of the front seats)

4. My sunglasses

5. My SONY DSC-H7 digi cam..

6. Mobile phone charger..

7. a water bottle..

8. My boxers..lol..

9. Cross checked car's RC, PUC Certificate papers..(psst: I still dont have insured my ride, but will it done this month)

10. Dr & Cr cards..

I left from my place (Hauz Khas) at around 1330 Hrs, My mom and me, my son's mom and him..

Some of my members left on 12th eve, so on 13th it was only my ride and my inlaws tavera, who were waiting for us at badarpur-gurgaon road..We shifted all the luggage including my mom (lol, sorry mom) to tavera..Now the travellers in Zen were:
me, my son, his mom and my sis in law

In tavera were,
a driver, my mom dad in law, my mom and the other sis in law..

We took the NH2 Route which was only and very simple way..
Now I will upload pics according to the trip.. and the pic quality is not soo good (as I am a bad photographer), but I hope u guys will manage..

Next Morning 14th March 2010 (Sunday)

I woke up at 0800 Hrs, without brushing my teeth, have my breakfast, which was very oily, it was puri sabji, bread rolls, and all the oily things you can have in your baddest oily nightmare....If wish that much oil becomes petrol and the my car's fuel tank will be full for next 9-10 months..

Took shower and went to the farmhouse, which was just besides the shaala, to do some pooja and all stuff (psst: pooja isnt sister of reema, it means workship)..

before leaving: Piegon piegon at our balcony

The singers were from T-series music company (no kidding this time)

Then after the pooja paath was over, we had lunch (which was again toooo oily like the breakfast, remember that nightmare I mentioned above)..

We prayed to god and then we left from Giriraj ji at 1600 Hrs..

Now while returning the seating arrangement was changed:

My inlaws decided to go to Vrindavan {which is another religious please nearby (25kms) }

so there was another Tavera, in which my wife's uncle, aunt, my 3 cousin bro in laws, 1 bro in law ki wife and a cousin junior sis in law..

and in my ride, came, my mom, wife, my son and a very highly irritating cousin junior bro in law..

every time, I concentrated on driving, he was changing the tracks (he kept the remote with him) and turning the camera on and off was giving him, dont know what pleasure (this guy is in 7th standard)..

huhhh !! soo the pics again...

No that isnt my 7th standard bro in law (thats the monkey himself)

While returning we stopped at Bikanerwala again, to have some snackies which was at Faridabad..and I thanked god, because my jr. bro in law was shifted to the tavera, we said bye to the tavera and my mom, wife and my son left for our home....

My ride got some scratches while parking at the mall, there was a bigg stone which I didnt see..

and a few on the other side
Name: 39.jpg
Views: 1731
Size: 28.6 KB

other issue was that the pipe which drains the water from a/c was some how fallen some where or dun know what happened to it, my front co driver seat was made a small pond..

though i kept keeping tissues there, but didnt help..

Name: 40.JPG

I reached back home at exact 2100 Hrs..

Overall the trip was nice, but as you guys know that with mom wife and son no trip can be as happening and wild as you can have with your friends..but, no regrets, greatt tripp..

Conclusions:

1. Roads in total trip were 40% bad..
2. There was 1 toll of Rs. 35 while going and (lol) same Rs 35 while returning..
3. Food in the whole belt was tasty..
4. If you are going to Mathura from Delhi, faridabad side, try to leave before 1600 Hrs, as the villagers starts to commute from their farms, and they will come in front of you at the highway from no where, with their tractors and cycles, sometimes with their cattles..
5. Petrol pumps were in bad condition (old machines and all, chances of getting bad fuel (mixed) and chances of the staff tampering with machines are more) so keep tank full before starting the trip (this was my observation, not all the fingers are same)....

When I reached back home, the odo was showing 357 kms, and the best part (lol) was this whole trip was made in fuel worth Rs. 1000 (woohooo)..So if I calculate my car ran Rs. 2.8/km, with a/c on al the time (of course not when, I went to dharamshala)..

Thank you guys for reading my travelogue..

Next time I will try to click some nice pics and make a better travelogue..( I heard you screaming nooooooooooooooo)..

Was refreshing to see the cockpit photo showing around 70kmph after seeing many photos showing between 140 - 180!
If you don't slow down, then you don't smell the roses!
And the voyeur photos were hilarious. Mods would have had a hearty laugh at the way you named the photos.

Things I remember about Mathura/Agra is standing next to a FAT halwaiii who would be stirring milk a big vessel and having fresh milk in a kulhad in winters ! Sweets and Oils were always the hallmark!

When I mentioned to folks in Bangalore that we used to have Dood and Jalebi for breakfast, they said I was joking!

PS: This is obviously a part of a truck load of memories that I have about the place (some 16 years back).
