Srisailam is best enjoyed with a maximum of 2 nights stay. Anything beyond that is an overkill, IMO!

Default 3 Cars – 9 People – Whole lot of Fun

3 Cars – 9 People – Whole lot of Fun. This was how Camping in Srisailam - The Escapade to Wilderness was planned.

Each one of us had a different experience before embarking on the Journey.

FleetMaster & Myself were out on a all night food binge. Calculated the length and breadth of Charminar a day prior to the planned trip. In order to satiate our hunger for yummy Haleem & Biryani, we dropped at Deccan Paradise for a round of Haleem and Biryani. Post the binge we realized the clock was slowly ticking towards 3.30 & we headed back home. Hit the bed at 4.30 and was damn sure, not even in my wildest dreams would I be able to wake up at 5.30 to embark on the journey. So, it was a couple of those private moments with the Remote. Me & My TV Remote embracing each other, eagerly awaiting for the clock to sneak to the 5.30 Mark.

Mobike008 & MileCruncher were out at Café Bahar enjoying their Dinner. They bid adieu to each other at 12.30 to hit the bed.

Srimath was out working at office & returned back home early in the morning.

A glimpse at the rendezvous point and we were stunned to death. Only 1 vehicle seen parked and no other vehicle in sight, we were sure, someone either dropped or moved to Tentative List silently. It was just a Storm & a Santro. Palio was nowhere in sight. A couple of unanswered calls later, we embarked on the journey to the Wilderness of Srisailam minus Srimath & His Palio.

We kicked off the first leg of the trip with Storm & Santro chasing each other. Storm was flying off the bad tarmac and Santro was playing safe with the same. Storm being a beast in itself, was rushing and gushing at awesome speeds on the potholes & MC behind the wheels, it’s always like that. Haven’t seen Ani slowing down even, when the patch was extremely bad and was cruising at top speeds over those pot holes and non existing roads. Santro on the other hand, was taking its own time to pave way through those pathetic roads & non existing roads.

With Storm nowhere in sight, Santro was cruising at good speed, enjoying the scenic beauty. Devouring the pristine beauty of the villages, the greenery around, the serene beauty was all we did till we reached Kalwakurthy.

A couple of miles before Kalwakurthy, my phone blurted out its crazy ringtone & it was Srimath. Srimath missed our calls & was enroute Srisailam all alone. That’s the SPIRIT!!! He never lets go of the opportunity to spend a quality time with Hydies. That’s what happened again. He was on the way to Kalwakurthy, our first pit stop.

Should mention something about Srimath here. Imagine a person awake the whole night, returns from office, freshens up and drives down all alone to meet the Gang of Campers, who have already embarked on the Journey. Kudos to Srimath & His Enegry.

Enthusiastic Bikers & Their Experience
Met a couple of enthusiast bikers, who were on their journey towards Srisailam, Horsley Hills and etc. Loved the time spend with them. 3 Bikers, 2 Bikes & Whole World to explore. That’s something I would also love to do.

MC’s Storm lambasted the roads and left them in lurch, hurling towards Kalwakurthy. We had to face the eerie of the roads till we reached Kalwakurthy. The roads were magical & amazing. We were whole heartedly welcomed at each village/town by either YSR or NTR or Rajiv Gandhi or Indira Gandhi. That’s how popular we were.

They’ve had statues erected bang in the middle of the roads and some empty pedestals, eagerly awaiting for either of their statues or waiting for someone to adorn it.

The mere sight of the name KALWAKURTHY aroused our excitements to a different level. It was one of those much needed pit stops. A couple of calls later, we were led to Raj’s Place. We had Rajiv Gandhi & NTR guiding us the route to Raj’s place. Rajiv Gandhi pointed us to turn right & NTR pointed us to go straight. Thanks to those departed souls, we reached Raj’s place without much of hassles. The path to Raj’s place was nothing short of a Jeeper’s Paradise. Ani’s Storm would have jumped, humped over the off-roaders paradise, poor ol’ Santro had to take a bit of beating.

As goes the saying, every bit of pain you take pays off. Mere smell of Idli’s & Poori’s elevated our hunger by leaps and bounds. Stormers were all done with their breakfast and the Santrostics were the next to jump and devour the amazing breakfast at Raj’s place.

Post Breakfast & few giggles later, we were on our way to Dindi. A major shuffle of companions happened at Kalwakurthy. Santro, which was a virtual house for 3 guys a couple of minutes back, now housed 4 (Traveloholic, FleetMaster, Arcot & Gaurav). Imagine this, what would be the level of fun a bunch of guys would have, especially when the average age in the Santro dropped down by leaps and bounds. The average age group of Santro dropped down to mid-20’s. That’s where it was whole Hulla-Bulla all throughout the journey.

STORM was ripping past by as usual and SANTRO was slowly devouring the scenic beauty around and moving ahead. It was like strolling on a beach, watching the setting sun. Storm pranced ahead and had to wait for a couple of minutes, in order to ensure that we caught up with them.

*The main reason, why we were driving slow: We wanted to give the Stormers abundant time to take some beautiful snaps, which can be shared here

All the while could see the speedometer going up and dropping down to slowest speeds because of pathetic roads.

The roads led us to DINDI. Santro took over the terrian like MC's Storm. It was our Santro's first 4x4 Experience

Where are all the campers? Not one in sight since yesterday. BTW, due to a couple of issues, the thread hasn't been updated today. Shall update it tomorrow. Dindi Experience, Meal Deal Experience, 700+ Steps towards Fitness Experience and many more coming soon. Might need inputs from Campers for the same. Till then, I'll Be Back!!!

This is for Fazal Saab, Abheek and all others who are following the thread.

These mere sights elevated the hope of the existence of wildlife in the Srisailam jungle. These pug marks/hoof marks/foot prints were taken, when we took a stop over for a Bio-Break admist the jungle.

The serene beauty of jungle excited us and we strolled a bit ahead from the road. We walked a couple of minutes into the Wilderness to see an amazing water hole with these pug marks/hoof marks/foot prints all over the place. It was a moment we loved to cherish.

I could make out one of the prints, but am lost out on the other two prints. Can someone help us in identifying these pug marks/hoof marks/foot prints?

This looks like a foot print of a Bear.

Nikhil, if your write up is taking a long time.

Why not narrate it Quentin Tarantino style, that is images are posted first as a photoblog and story telling happens subsequently?

All of us are impatiently waiting for the pictures

Avi Bhai, it does take time to write about the whole experience. Lets do it the photoblog way!!! Pics coming up in a jiffy. The experience couple with pics was what I planned for. Alas, the whole thing's gonna change now. Lets do it this way, I'll put up the pics and would expect all of us to put in stuff. This way, I would not miss out on many things.
