Ravi,

I was about to write something, then I saw, Star has already captured those words. To me the best of all was the India Gate snap! Very nice feel.

Amazing trip you had there. Reminded me of my "life" in Rajasthan! Great refresher.

I thank all, who posted in this thread with their comments, appreciation and kind words.

The last, but not the least, I thank Cara Mia Fiat Linea for taking us safely to all these places and bring us back home safely.

Travelogue concluded, at last!

Should it not be the BPCL COCO ( opp. the gurdwara) before Bharuch on your way back southwards?
I have always found meals at Ginger Wakad to be a good experience.
to your driving skills, and to your Linea and to your wonderful travelogue.
Please make more trips and write about your experiences here, for all of us to savour.

Regards, drive safe

Thanks, issigonis, for pointing out the error. Yes, you are right. I stand corrected. BPCL COCO pump at Luvara is located before Bharuch while driving southwards from Ahmedabad.

Default Details of petrol bills

Now, I am doing some accounting of my trip. I spent about Rs 30 k towards the petrol bills during my 18-day, 6148-km long mega trip. The lowest rate of petrol was in BP - Gymkhana Service Station, New Delhi [Rs 55.50/litre] followed by BP COCO pump near Talegaon Toll Plaza, Pune [Rs 55.65/litre]. The list does not include the free petrol [about 10 litres] sponsored by Fiat India Automobiles Ltd. during the Ranjangaon plant visit on 3 December 2010. Here are the details.

Default Mumbai to Ahmedabad - NH 8 - Toll Details

I paid Rs 424 towards toll during my Mumbai to Ahmedabad trip on 20 Nov 2010. I saw road-widening works in progress after entering Gujarat upto Surat. Perhaps, the toll was not collected on these stretches in view of these road improvement works. Here are the details:

The following are the details of the toll I paid in various stretches of my mega trip:

Here, I must mention about the bitter experience I had in a toll plaza at Mahuvan on NH 2 while going from Agra to Delhi. The toll guy gave me an option that I could pay Rs 20 without receipt and Rs 35 with receipt! Of course, I opted for the later. Nowhere else, I had this bitter experience.

I spent about Rs 3500 totally towards toll during my 6148-km long trip.
