| I was told the same at Aundha Nagnath shiv temple (near Nanded-Parbhani in Maharashtra) - also referred as one of twelve jyotirlingas by some people. Last edited by naren_gs1 : 1st December 2010 at 19:30. |

| I am sorry as I could not post yesterday due to broadband problem. Day 6 It was early morning ride from Dwarka to Jamnagar by taxi. Started @ 6:45 am, Somewhere after Dwarka, ![]() ![]() Beautiful sunrise, ![]() Roads are good all the way till Jamnagar, ![]() Somewhere before Khambaliya, It’s the smoke from factory and not clouds, ![]() Essar refinery, ![]() ![]() ![]() Reliance petrochemical complex, ![]() ![]() ![]() Reliance colony and mart, ![]() ![]() Jamnagar area is bird friendly area, ![]() At @ 9:45 am, reached to Jamnagar airport, ![]() Flight time was 11:45am and we were the first to enter the terminal other than three security guards and an officer, Within next 15 min, cars and taxis started to arrive with loads of passengers, There was no sign of airport officers and airline staff at 10:15am, Both are Sarkari company, aur kya ho sakata hai?: ![]() At 10:45, a lady with airline badge entered in the terminal, Then activities started, Baggage screening started at 11 am for the 11:45 am flight, Quick check in, And waiting started for security check, The terminal at Jamnagar airport is so small that even bus stand at any district place in Maharashtra is bigger than it, Security check started at 11:30 am, There was no announcement of flight delay, There was long wait in security hold area, ![]() ![]() Finally, flight from Mumbai arrived at 12:15pm, good 1 hour late, ![]() Then quick turnaround and ready to fly toward Mumbai at 12:40pm, ![]() ''Indian airlines ki uddan IC148 me aapka swagat hai,....'', no apology for the delay, What’s wrong going on with this sarkari airline? Look at in-flight service, air hostess aunty and overall efficiency, I can see the service level deteriorating at all level, God save that airline It was just 1 hour flight and landed at Mumbai airport at @ 1:40pm, Plane parked at remote location [as usual], Then bus ride to terminal 1A, Ye Mumbai airport kab sudharega? ![]() Then it was Volvo from Mumbai to Pune, At 7pm, we reached to Pune, It was a satisfying pilgrimage. Thanks for reading this travelogue. THE END. Last edited by ASHISHPALLOD : 3rd December 2010 at 12:13. |

in 2005, my company had bought one 25 flight booklet for some RS 60000/- from Indian airline and gave to me for my frequent trips For next 7 months i had a terrible time. Each one of their flight was delayed minimum 30 minutes max upto 2.5 hours. Eventually, i learnt one thing. If i have punish my Sales Manager then buy such a booklet from Indian Airlines for him. He will get frustrated and the probably leave. It could be an excellent attrition tool, probably lowest cost one as well. i have never chosen to travel by Indian airlines since. Only good thing i remember about those 7 months is quality of food on board the flights with general second helping (bread, juices, coffee, tea, water etc) from the hostess, which reminds one being with one's mother or elder sister for lunch/dinner. What matters is for both your parents and you, this trip was a satisfying one. God bless all of us. Last edited by StarVegabond : 3rd December 2010 at 12:43.

... there is only one flight operating from Jamnagar Airport and that is IC148. ![]() Initially, i was little hesitant to book the tickets of this flight IC148 as i remembered what happened with IC814 kathmandu-Delhi via lahor-dubai-kandahar flight ten years back. | BHPian | Bhau, I have good experience with IC flights when i used to travel between MUM-NGP I liked it only once when my seat got upgraded to business class :-) ontime arr/dep is best with Indigo. For sitting arrangments, I guess MUM-PUNe volvos are far better than any flights |

The seat pitch is more than 32 as compared to others 29/30. What matters is the overall flight experience and IC flights are far behind in that area. Last edited by ASHISHPALLOD : 3rd December 2010 at 12:52.

| Forget the delay saar. How was your parents reaction to their maiden flight? Did they enjoy it? I still vividly remember the reaction on my mother's face when I showed her how the ATM dispensed cash! What we consider as quality of life now, need not translate the same to the previous generations. I realised that most are happy in their simple ways of existence now. But it gives me extreme happiness to show them how the world has changed and give them a first hand experience of what I consider is a luxury that I enjoy now! On a lighter note, what did they have in Indian? Misal pav? ![]() |

| BHPian | @MX6/@Bhau, Now the experience you both shared is immense. My parents are yet to try a flight, but they are more happy with their free AC passes, my father being in railways. Just this gone weekend, we were having a daal-bati program at home and I was telling mom of different ways to make baati and whether we can use microwave for it. When my father told her that all my ideas are coming from internet, she still has that amused looks. ![]() But if you observe kids nowadays, one day we will be in same shoes. Bhau, a very well planned and brief TL. Before having the knee surgery, I had 2 things in mind 1.Leh, 2.Kutch with my Nomad. But now with my better half I guess it has to be Estilo, sometime soon |

| @Ashishbhau, Flight delay from Jamnagar to Mumbai - Worthless Food given aboard aircraft - Tasteless Airlines which carried you people across - Useless Experience your parents had - Priceless! Remember the old email forward of the maiden trip of a father of an IIT graduate in the plane? @Nomad, Forget your bike. Take your better half. Which ever vehicle she loves to come in. Journey's are always longer lasting (in the mind and memory) when done with someone who loves you and who you love! |
