Its time to head upwards.
Since the Edison and Florence lakes are frozen, and only way to go where is on a snowmobile, we decide to head to Huntington Lake

Little did we know we will see the most amazing sunset of our lives

The sunset scene really is something one could look forward to and captured very beautifully.

It would be nice to camp there.

I just love California for the sheer number of national parks in there. This one's located on the slopes of Sierra Nevada mountains and I still curse myself for not visiting this place.

No doubt Tanveer! One of the most beautiful sunset pics I have seen. Being there & watching the sunset in person would have been awesome.

Default Lake Huntington - Sunset area

Before I start posting the pics, let me narrate an interesting incident.
Being a 4WD driver, I have never cared about patches of snow here and there. Its extremely rare to have one of the front and one of the rear wheels lose traction at the same time on little ice, esp with AT tires.
Now here we are in the Cobalt, FWD a little compact car.
I am driving along the lake, trying to get a glimpse of some access area, when the road narrows down quite a bit due to snow banks on the sides.
At a fork, one road gets even more narrow, and other road is snowed out, only ski-mobiles will go there.
So as I try to reverse, and then take a U, one of the front wheels lose traction.
I press the acclerator, and the speedo accelerates to 50mph quickly.
Luckily it was a small patch, and little bit of back and forth does the trick.
Otherwise we would have had to get down and put on chains.

Finally we find a parking lot, and ask the people there to guide us to lake shore.
Its just a 100mts away but even that seems like a mile in such deep snow.

So to see this sunset, we did have to give in a lot of effort

So here are the sunsets!

Section 2 - From Location II

As Mukul(TG) does the pie thing, I go to a different part of the lake, and this indeed is a more amazing location!

As we see it, the sky changes colors. Every minute there is a different color

tsk,
Liked the "mountain behind us" photograph. The near glass reflection and the DoF is great. This is what happens when two good photographs (TG) go out together.
