Default Photolog-Weekend trip Munnar-Ramakkalmed-Vagamon

It was totally an unplanned trip. Me and my Brother-in-law decided to have a family freak-out to somewhere cool place. Iast year I visited munnar in summer time. It was so hot that, we doesn’t feel like it’s a hill station.Usually we Go from Cochin to Munnar via Kothamangalam Adimaly and return through the same route. So, This time we take a turn in return trip
It was like, Munnar ->Pooppara-> Nedumkandam-> Ramakkalmedu-> Vagamon ->Moolamattam (Via Pullikkanam) ->Thodupuzha-> Cochin
Vagamon to Moolamattam via Pullikkanam is around 30 Km. Believe me, It was a wonderful drive through sky top hills and steep valleys But unfortunately, I could not catch the sceneries because we started from Vagamon around 6 pm
The sweetness of this great trip belongs to the Ayurcounty resorts. We have got a special rate for the Sunrise Suite. IMO, It is the only resort in Munnar where you can enjoy the Sunrise with chilling touch of misty wind The resort arranged a common camp fire, which we all enjoyed a lot. The Suites are very spacious, Clean, very good service. Suggest fellow Team-Bhpians to visit the misty heaven in Gods own country

It's Devikolam Dam catchment area. You see and enjoy from the suite's balcony.

Actually, there was no wind when we reached. Just a normal climate. The security person available there, said like western wind will start in mid of february.
Ramakkalmedu snaps attached.

We didn't try to climb 'Ramakkal' (the big rock formation at a distance of 2 Km)

That is the lake created from the waters of Anairankal dam. I think you have taken the snap from NH-49. Nice view of the entire valley from the Ayur County. We stayed in Sterling resorts when we went in December end 2010.

Yes buddy. You are right. It's Anayirankal dam. The 3rd snap is taken from resort balcony only (with zoom). The left side you can see some buildings in the 5th snap. It's Club Mahindra resorts.

Yes, i know. we were neighbours with Club Mahindra for 3 days !! Actually i didn't read the first part where you mentioned you stayed in Ayur County. Later when seeing your photos, i could see the snap of CM and guessed that you were staying there.

Yes, Direct road from Vagamon to Moolamattam via Pulikanam. AFAIK,The road is recently constructed. Very scenic having steep downhill also amazing aerial view of Moolamattom town down. You will forget that you are in Kerala. Something like you are traveling through the 'ghats of Afghanistan' It's difficult to climb from Moolamattam side to vagamon
