Anirudha,
Thanks for your appreciation. Nothing yet on the level of NG, 2011.
The sunlight orchestrating the million hues. Dawn and dusk sunlight brings out the best, also in shadows, unlike the bright mid day sun.

More forest.

I love the way you have used the morning and evening sunlight to capture the soul of the forest. What if you did not see the tigers. We are still happy to see these snaps.

Just reached office, checked out the new clicks and I am already daydreaming. There's such serenity in the pics. Awesome Fazal Saab, just awesome. Those coiled tree roots (or are they branches?) look like giant Anacondas! BTW, are there big reptiles in these forests?

lordofgondor,
Thank you for your appreciation.
Those coiled things are vines of a climber which once used the tree beside it for support and after many it years overgrew the tree. It is not a parasite and does not kill the host tree.
There are Indian pythons here which can grow up to 8 feet, sighted and photographed by crankshaft on the other Pench thread.
Regards,

Fazal Sahb, Great photographs. The fifth one is the best amongst all and these lines are apt for the fifth pic.

"The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep".

SILVERWOOD,
Thank you. Those lines by Robert Frost indeed are appropriate for the photograph.

Dr. Amar,
Many thanks. No we did not stay at Ken, but pitched a tent by a stream, on a private land just a kilometer from the park gate.
Thanks to Dr. Ghosh for coordination with the owner for that. As the temprature was 4 degrees at night, we southie's froze and the rest of the three nights booked ourselves in Heavens Garden Resorts, where we were allowed to cook our own dinners, thanks again to Dr. Ghosh.
I have plenty of wildlife on my camera, will upload later.

Fazal - Fabulous! Fantastic! Amazing pics of the woods and wildlife. Your TL's are always a visual treat! Wish we had something more than 5*. While every pic of yours is well shot, I just loved the first pic of the darting Langur, the way your froze it in Air.

Though cold, you must have had absolute fun setting up camp in the jungles. Did you travel to Pench by your scorpio's?

Edit: Didnt heed your advice last time and got myself a P&S. Now I have started saving up again for a DSLR.

Sir, hats off to you for the splendid photography. Your control and sense of composition is beyond imagination. It is not only superb how you stilled the motion of the monkeys and deer but capturing of the serene lovely beauty of the jungle with all its hues in the right day lights. Since you were in Pench, you could have hopped on to Tadoba as well for Tiger safaris and we could have seen some beautiful stripes as well...maybe next time.

Parsh,
Thank you.
The tiger was not the only guy on the list. My personal agenda was habitat and photographing the forest, the scenes we pass by numerous times on a safari but just do not notice them, as our brain is programmed to search for the elusive big cats.

Arun,
Thanks for your compliments.
Yes, we had a great time as we froze night to morning in that tent without blankets.
It was an Innova and a Scorpio in which we reached Nagpur in 7 hrs flat. The return drive to Hyd. dragged on and on.
If you are planning wildlife photography, a better camera and lens are essential, sometimes a shot missed cannot happen again through out your life.
Regards,

Random.
Notice
the violet glow in the second photograph,it is natural.
