| Hi Zenopio, Thanks for the info. Any idea though as to how the offset is calculated? Is it safe to say that 38 should be the offset for any 16" rim on a Swift or will the same vary depending on the tyre size and rim design? My 15" rims have an offset of 43, however i believe there are other BHPians who are running on 15" with a different offset. Im confused here and dont want to get this wrong. |

Or if you want to go for 15" rims you can go for 195/60/15 or wider choice would be 205/60/15 The alloys would cost you min @ 10200 (Machined Black Finish) for set of 4 Min 14500 for chrome finish for set of 4

| 185/70/14 IS THE RIGHT SIZE FOR SWIFT , I THINK 28 IN FRONT & 30 IN THE BACK WOULD BE THE RIGHT PRESSURE |

| Ok Guys, I am sorry to ask this question over and over again but thats because i seem to be getting mixed answers. Once again here are my questions: 1. What is the original offset of the Swift Vxi? 2. I have upgrade to 15" X 6.5 OZ Racing rims with ET 43 shod with 195/60/R15 tyres. If offset should always remain the same regardless of the size of rim and profile of tyre, howcome the professionals at OZ Racing recommended and offset of 43 for my rims? I am using these rims since the past 1.5 years with no issues what-so-ever. 3. I am planning to now upgrade to 16" rims i.e. 16" X 7 OR 16" X 7.5 with 205/50/R16 tyres. What should be the offset of the rims? Will it change or remain the same as that of the stock rims? 4. Will a 16" rim with 205/50/R16 tyre fit in the spare wheel well? 5. Will there be any fouling in the wheel archs at full lock or at full load? All experts please help and give me the final suggestions / right specifications for the above questions and doubts ![]() |

| Senior - BHPian | Epic - I and many other have said this before, a certain amount of tolerance is allowed in the wheel offset. If the stock is 38, then 43 is perfectly acceptable. For understanding this, read here: Car Bibles : The Wheel and Tire Bible Page 2 of 2 |

These are wrong tyre pressures. for VDI with 185/70/14 tyres you would use 28-29 PSI in the rear and 31-32 PSI in the front. Due to diesel engine front tyres need about 2-3 PSI more pressure than the rear.

| Guys i am in a dilemma, My cousin told me just yesterday that 16' alloys are not good for swift vdi and they also void the warranty, Is this true? Can anyone with the good knowledge recommend me the correct Tyre size and the alloy size? My considerations are - 1. It should not void the warranty. 2. The FE should not take a bad hit. 3. The handling should be good. Also i was considering Yokohama or Michelin tyres..which one is better? Kindly update! |

Considering your requirements listed, I would think you should stick to 185/70 R14 (Stock size on the ZXi) since FE is a priority, moving to 16" or even 15" will have an impact on FE. If you do still feel the need to move to 15/16", search around in the Tyre & Alloys section & you'll get all the correct upgrade sizes mentioned in various Swift threads. And choose any between Yoko or Michelin, both are excellent tyres.

In your opinion Does this implied to Swift Vdi with Abs as well? And how much difference does it makes to FE if i go for a 15" alloy? And choose any between Yoko or Michelin, both are excellent tyres. [/quote] Someone has told me that Muchelin is better than Yoko and they last longer. Is this true? |

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | Man, thats the weirdest tyre upgrade question i've ever read,Raghu! Lol! 205/55/R15 shouldn't scrape the fenders. Just make sure the offset is right . But, I would suggest you stick to 195/60/R15. Just to save you from bent alloy rims. ![]() |

| Senior - BHPian | 205/55 R15 is the proper up size & will not have any problems on the car. We drove two cars fitted with the same size & loaded with around 400-odd kgs. of stuff from Delhi to Bombay without any issues! |
