Hi Guys,

My first post after browsing through the various forums for over a year as a non-member and member.

A few months ago got myself a set of four 14" Platis and Goodyear F1 195/60 R14s. I know I should have gone in for a lower profile but did not know better at that time.

Did a trip to Chennai with 2 people at the back and the rear tyres rubbed on the underside, my heart was in my mouth. Subsequently I raised the rear suspension by an inch and stiffened the springs; no problems since then.

The alloys and the tyres together costed me about 26k (traded in my old shoes for 2.5k so effective price 23.5k). Got them done at Super Tyre Tech on JC Road, Bangalore.

Gautam from Sai Mag Wheels told me HR introduced this design about 5 years back with 5 holes, he had the same on display along with Yongle's product having the same design. Also told that it has become popular as these are now available in small sizes and with 4 holes.

The colour of the wheels and the colour of the body are matching very nicely.

Hey Ankit, those alloys go really well with your car.
I liked the alloys just by themselves as well

195/60's on an Ikon is not a good idea Parikshith. And raising the suspension on a nice handling car like the Ikon is even worse.

Ankit, the alloys are terrific, no doubt, but in the second picture the front tyre is balding. Time for change ?

Thanks Xhaust, jav and Sumit!

P_P - Thanks bro, the tyres have only run about 7k kms.. There is a lot of sand and dust on the tyres so they appear balding. It's all good
