For me the offset of 38 was another deciding factor apart from the design.
I just didn't want to go for any modifications to the hub/suspension.

I guess I was lucky to get my favourite design in the specs I needed.
It was the last set available at Sai Mag Wheels.

Offset of santro stock rims is 46.
Here you are. Next time i go alloy shopping, i know what to keep in mind.

The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!-p1010021.jpg

I dont exactly know what brand it is, I think it is some chinese/taiwanese alloy. It cost me Rs 2,500 per wheel.

Now i am a bit confused. What exactly is offset? I thought it was the amount that sticks out of the wheel arch. Am i correct?

Whoa!! The Samurais come in 14" now? I thought they were 15" upwards.
Can someone really confirm this?
If it's really true then this will be my choice when I decide to go in for alloys.
Could you post the price and the shop details here if you don't mind or a PM would be helpful. Thanks a lot!

Are you sure those alloys have 26 offset ? I don't think so.

OFFSET is the distance between the center-line of the wheel and the plane of the hub-mounting surface of the wheel where you would bolt the wheel.

By the way, I remember you mentioning somewhere that Zen's wheels' stock offset is 45. Plus, your posts about alloys for Zen were very helpful for me when I decided alloys for my Zen. I went for 155/65 R13, on 13" HR alloys (38 offset).

I am just taking some time out to thank you for sharing your knowledge.
You are welcome.

Samurai is available in 14". However, you may get the design (SC5) only in different finishes, as I could not find any other samurai design for 14" and 108 PCD. I had also come across a replica of samurai SC5 wheel made by Evo. Finish was not that great, but the price is less by few thousands for the set.

MODEL : SAMURAI 5
WHEEL SIZE: 14x5.5
ET: +38
PCD: (8x100,108)

That is a very very interesting link you have given me, thanks for that. i am attaching a picture of the tag that came on the box of the alloy wheels.

You said the OE steel wheels on the Santro are 45 offset. And i noticed the they sit quite inside the wheel arch. So since my Wheels stick out of the arch by a few cms, i guess the positive offset is less and hence only 25 (i.e closer to zero). isnt it?

*** sorry about the long post; very excited, so please bear with me ***

i always wanted to put alloys on my ride. the first time was when i changed the stock spoke rims of my CBZ to the Karizma alloys! but changing the wheels on a car is a more expensive affair, so i had to wait (and wait). after a looooong wait (and because the existing OE GPS2 were giving problem), i finally got to put some new shoes for my baby yesterday.

for the past couple of days, i had been looking around and asking at places the rates and ogling at the choice of alloy wheels! frankly, i had no clue about tire upsizing or how to select the correct set of alloys for your ride. frustrated, i finally called up Xryder asking for his opinion about which alloys to put. he said he knew a place where we could check out some wheels. i was going to put up the visit to that shop till Saturday, but something made me ask Xryder if he was free the same evening! he said yes and both of us headed to the accessories shop!

after reaching the shop, i was overwhelmed by the choice of wheels and hand't it been for Xryder, i wouldn't have been able to make up my mind! anyways, we finally decided on one, made the payment, stuffed the merchandise in the car and headed for fitment!

i'll shut up now

jacked up and all four wheels removed

here are the details:
alloys: AWA 15" (set of 5)
tyres: Hankook 195/55 R15 (4400/- a piece IIRC)

PS: Xryder - bro, can't thank you enough for your help! couldn't have done this without you! the ride quality has improved drastically, less tyre noise, handling is way better and braking is shorter!

i'm loving it! pa ra pa pa pa!

The pictures dont do justice to them still. wash up your ride properly and then wax it. Click pictures on an empty stretch of road, preferably without any buildings etc to prevent any sort of distraction. They look really mean and this is not enough ! Im actually considering get the same alloys for myself now after seeing them yesterday !

Can you please share the address for the Accessory shop from where you picked those?
