Alloys with warranty (not bill), tyres with bill warranty. What do you guys suggest? should i go for it? And any1 have the link to SM's site? Please share.

What are the tyre options in 175/65/14 and 185/60/14 as an upgrade for the i10? Please post approximate prices as well.

Also, will 185/60 in 14" be too wide for the power of the 1.1L engine?

For my i10:
185/60/14
Bombay Costs:
Yokohama A Drives: 3000 each

Set of 4 alloys - Koenig: 17,500 for set

Money back for old tyres & rims: 1800 each

Pics here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...-review-4.html (Got a black eye! i10 AT Asta (Kappa engine) With Sunroof Review)

No issue with the tyres being wide for engine power or touching anything inside the engine bay.

@Tejas - Thanks so much for your reply. It really clears a lot of doubt.

I believe A Drives are a great option, but also looking for more options in these 2 sizes, since the friend who wants to put these up does not drive more then a few kms once a week (say 50 kms MAX).

Alloys aside, he wants to put up tyres which are quite reasonable. Would XM1+ be available in this size? How about Apollo? Or any Bridgestone?

Well, I have my year old i10 magna 1.1 (Gold), still working on stock tyres. Everything was going well till now. Day before one tyre got punctured in the side (According to the tyre shop fellow repairing a puncture in side won’t stay long). So I got the tube fitted in flat tubeless tyre (How safe is that).
Today just two day after my cars front tyre had a same fate (I wonder why).Tyre pressure was perfect and checked 2 days back. Now I have three tubeless tyres, one with tube and one sitting flat. Just thinking what to do next. I don’t want to compromise FE at any cost. Didn’t wanted to spend on new tyres since I have to leave country in couple of months and after that my father will be using it in Agra with minimum usage (10 km per week)—I doubt this also--in city. This was the situation till now.
Now seeing the fate of my old tyres I have change my decision. I have gone thru all the threads regarding i10 tyres.
Few Questions--
1.Putting a tube in a tubeless tyre is safe?
2. Is the quality of stock i10 tyres so bad?
3. Best tubeless tyres I can buy which does not affect much on FE and with better stability.

I know 3rd question has been answered quite many times. But I am looking for more on FE side. Moreover any suggestion where about best shop for this purchase in New Delhi. Regarding alloys in i10 I always used to feel that alloys in i10 only looks good in black color car. Neither have I seen any golden i10 with alloy wheels. In case anyone has a picture of a golden i10 with alloy wheel, please share.

keralshobhit,
Try completely brushed steel rims on a Golden i10. Will go really well and look sporty.
Answers to your questions:
1. You should not put tubes in tubeless tires
2. If you drive primarily within the city and with a light pedal, stock tires are fine. Anything heavier and the tires turn dramatic
3. I will be able to answer this in a week or so. Just changed my tires. See my thread

Thanks NevGin,
-Any idea about why we should not put tubes in tubeless tyres (Just curious).
-But my stock tyres are behaving really rough.
-I will wait for ur review regarding the new tyres.
-What exactly do you mean by completely brushed rim.

keralshobhit,

- Rim profiles for tubeless tires are different from those for tires with tubes. For the tube to be effective, the tube must touch the rim and that's where the profile comes into the picture
- My tires are fantastic. Eats away any kind of road. Feels like a much bigger car and a solid drive
- Brushed steel is like a matte finish full steel rim

I have been searching and looking for an upsize on my colleague's 1.1L i10. Planning to visit some places for the alloys and footwear this Saturday. If you want, we can all go together and take a look.

Alloys will most certainly be picked up from Sai Mag Wheels in 14". No idea about the tyres though. Contemplating on 185/60/14

1. 13" - 175/70 R13
2. 14" - 175/65 R14

Putting 185's IMO will reduce ride comfort as aspect ratio is too low for such a small car

Alloys look good irrespective of the car's colour. What matters is matching the alloy design and shade with the car's overall look.

I will let you know what we decide on the tyres front.

Heard that 185 section is not recommended for the engine size, but Tejas is running them. 175/65/14 are a good upsize but I have been warned the rear might scrape on full load. 175/70/13 is supposedly the BEST upsize (but the itch is to switch to 14", right?)
