| Team-BHP Support ![]() | As some of you may know the XM2 has already been launched and is on sale in AsiaPac and OZ for over 6 months now. EDIT : Now launched in India. Highpoints - Michelin Energy XM2 offers a match of fuel saving, safety and longevity. - Designed specifically for compact and mid-sized passenger vehicles, the XM2 targets the mass market in India. Compared to the previous generation Michelin Energy tyre, the new XM2 uses less fuel thanks to an 8% reduction in rolling resistance, lasts up to 15% longer (fewer tyre replacements) and stops 1.7m shorter. - The XM2 will be available in sizes ranging from 12 to 15 inches, with prices ranging from Rs. 2475 up to Rs. 6075. ![]() Last edited by GTO : 20th March 2012 at 20:22. | Yup, this sounds good. Also, the 185/65R14 size exists. I'll wait for sometime to get this. Any idea about India specific launch? though it's not recommended to be test rat for Michelin :-) |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | The biggest problem with launching a new tyre in India is the mandatory requirement of having it ISI certified. No tyre can be launched without passing the norms laid down by ISI: Related thread. (ISI Mark on tyres - A requirement from 17th May 2010 onwards?) (See post #9 by Nikhil) That is the very reason why popular tyres like the Pilot Preceda 2 and others went off the shelf in India. Last edited by moralfibre : 24th February 2012 at 08:31. |

I hope this whole ISI legislation is to weed out cheap/substandard Chinese imports & not just another revenue generation scheme hatched up by our government. | |

| Am i the only one who feels that the Michelin XM2 looks uncannily similar to the Yokohama A-Drive? ![]() |

| BHPian | i was going to change tyres on my OHC to XM+ this weekend; probably i would wait for one or two more weeks to see whether XM2 becomes available and whether they give some attractive discounts on XM+ to clear out the stock (the best quote i got for 195/60R14 is 5525 per tyre). |

| This is good information if they are working on the launch. Waiting to see what sizes they will be launching this. I am looking for an alternative in 185/60R15. |

| BHPian | stock has started to reach the outlets but no information on pricing or launch date has been shared yet. clicked the following at Premji, Thane; got the tyres on my OHC Vtec changed to XM1+ as 195/60R14 is not in the list of sizes which are going to be available in first phase for XM2. |

| First of all thanks Mpower, your thread ended my long search for the perfect tyre for i20. Guys, got the tyres of my i20 changed to Michelin XM2 from stock Apollos after covering 39k Kms. The change was long overdue and whole lot of discussions with Jitesh, Atul & their Father from BK Tyres, Nikhil (Distinguished BHPian) and friends over the probable options limited my choice to Yokohama C. Drive, Continental CPC2 and Michelin XM1+ (I was always inclined towards C. Drive). After seeing this thread I contacted Atul from BK Tyres and was told that XM2 will be with them soon. Yesterday, XM2 was installed on i20 in stock size, 185/65 R14 at BK Tyres, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi. The tread pattern is very different and unconventional in R14 Size. Inspite of the lack of reviews both online and offline, XM2 was decided but not before consulting Atul who conveyed that these tyres have been extensively tested in India. The initial experience has been good especially with responsive braking and low noise. Further updates on Road Noise and Cornering shall follow tomorrow. I'm the second customer to buy XM2 from them. Let pics do the talking now! Last edited by tsk13 : 5th March 2012 at 21:48. |
