I got similar quote for both ER60 and AR20. But AR20 supply from Bridgestone has stopped and the latest they could give me was from the year 2015. However I got ER60 manufactured in April'17. I got the tyres replaced today. ER60 costed me Rs. 5600 each. Hoping this would not disappoint me.

Hello BHPians,

My dzire vxi has covered 60,000 km on stock mrf zvtv tyres (165/80 r14).

I am interested replacing these with Turanza ar20 195/70 r14 tyres.

Will these tyres fit on the stock rim properly? Or I should go with 185/70 r14?

The error in first case is of around 1.45% and in the second case is - 0.81%.

My Chevy Spark was fitted (165/65 R13) with ER60 (all 4) but had to replace front tires due to uneven wear. I could not get new ER60 but AR20. Currently my car has 2 AR20s s and 2 E60s.

Now I am trying to get AR20 to replace other two ER60s to make it even, but none of the local tire shops has AR20 (or ER60) in their stocks and are pushingto go for B290s.

What are my options if I cannot get hold of AR20s? Which other tires have similar pattern and characteristics?

Every tyre will be different. Dont believe anyone if they say something is similar to a different brand/model/pattern.

You have to change 4 or just get 2 of a different pattern and live with it.

If you have to do that anyway, why go for Bridgestone? The B290 is a very basic, entry level tyre. Consider the Yokohama Earth 1/Michelin XM2/Continental CC5/Apollo Alnac etc...

Thanks Nikhil!

AR20s are comparatively new (<10K). Is it ok if I change other two to Yoko/Michelin/Conti? I think that is what you meant.

It's fine given that there is no other choice for you. You have to keep in mind that the front will behave a bit differently from the rear in case of an emergency. As the tread will be different, rubber compound is different.
