I dont know if I've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating.

My friend who came with me to Leh in his 2011 Honda City with 195/60-15 Michelin Primacy 3 ST tyres drove close to 9000 kms on the tyres from BLR -Leh-Nubra Valley-Pangong Tso-Delhi-Bangalore.

Not even one single puncture. On roads that basically dont exist. On paths which are basically made from the stones and rocks falling down from the mountains.

For me, this was absolutely stunning. I never expected the Michelins to put up with so much abuse so well.

If the tyres are getting damaged on city roads, my belief is it is a matter of luck.

On the grip part, I simply meant these aren't sporty tyres as they are primarily comfort oriented. Braking, grip et al is sufficiently good till the time you don't go crazy with them. I used PLC which was the predecessor to P3ST for exactly 40k kms in my punto and it never gave me a scare. Have had P3ST for about 12k kms on punto and 4k kms on the Tjet and very happy with them.

Switching over to P3STs has meant that I am now noticing the engine noise from the Tjet which I never heard previously with the NCT5s. The TJet now glides effortlessly and still flies when I want it to - all in a much more silent way.

A PM from a fellow member brought me here to share my experience. Punto is about to complete 50k kms on P3STs in nearly 3 years of fitment. My regular tyre shop tells me they will go for another 10k at the minimum. For me, I'll use a tread depth gauge and decide for myself in the coming days. No prizes for guessing the replacement - it'll be another set of P3STs.

No complaints about anything with respect to grip, braking etc till now (barring small changes which are expected after this mileage). After a nearly 50k kms run, the noise is pretty audible now (no surprise), but its probably still less than the fairly new stock Goodyears I started with many years ago. Did replace one tyre though some 18 months ago due to a big impact on a highway run at about 90 kmph - not likely anything else would have survived that IMHO.

For the TJet, the set has done a little over 28k kms in about 2.5 years and no trouble whatsoever. They are still good to go for a couple more years at my current running.

PS: Recently picked up a pre-worshipped Brio VX AT and shod it with a set of Energy XM2s as well . Upsized to 185/65/14 which meant I gained some 6-7mm of GC as well. Couldn't be happier.

Tyre life on my Linea,

Michelin 3ST - 74,831 Kms (this would have gone for another 10K Kms at least. Replaced it with Michelin 3ST again

50% drives are on the highway,

The outgoing tires looks like it could go on for another 5k kilometers. Those P3STs are putting up so well.

The figure of 74,831 is amazing. I never knew the P3STs lasted for such a long duration.

Yes, I could have used the outgoing one for another 5-10K Kms, but replaced it as I had a Himachal trip then. Even I was surprised with the above number.

The wear on the tyre is very even at 75K kms and there is quite a bit tread left! . How often do you get alignment and balancing done?

I do WA/WB every 5-7.5K Kms.

How old are the tyres? I have never seen 75k-run tyres in such good condition. My Cruze's Vectras were knackered by 40k km!

You also mentioned highway runs - what speeds do you generally maintain? Normally highway tyres should have less sidewall damage etc but more tread wear especially at 100 km/hr speeds.

I am planning to change the tyres on my Fiesta. The current spec is 195/55 R15 (S Alloys). I believe the P3STs don't come in that size (?).
Would it be okay to upsize to 195/60 ?

Mostly in the range of 100-120 Kmph, it depends on how good the highway is and the traffic as well.

Now this is from my first set (Goodyear Eagle NCT 5) after a year and 35K Kms, under very similar driving condition.

Seriously good quality tyres I must say! I am also writing them for my Octy currently on stock tyres at 20k km.
