Will post pics in my garage soon.
Was quoted 13500 and 14750 for Aura F61350 hyper silver and hyper black. Anyone here who has hyper black alloys?

i think aura manufacture a perfect match for alto....12 inches alloys....other manufacturers have 12inches but they are somewhat protruding .... dont shift ur CG by putting 13inch alloys... if u go for a low profile or upsized set of tyres ur steering will feel heavy..also FE will drop...also power..

Would ignore FE over safety.

Huh! It's been a long time now!

I would suggest you to get 165/60 or 155/65 or 155/70 tyres on 5.5J or 5J 13inch alloys. In case of fitting 155/70 on 13inch alloys, then there would be a small alteration job done to your wheel wells.

I have Aura 13inches, with 155/65 Michelins....but never ever felt drop in FE, nor heavy on steering...

If u have problem in sourcing 5J rims just get baleno stock steel rims, cheap n good enough....

Falkens I have on now, the 165/60R-13 Falken ZE326.
so the best set for Alto is 13" 5J with 165/60 or 155/65.

Can I say, 160/60 for performance and 155/65 for comfort and hence Potenza GIII / Michelin XM1 respectively?

What about 13" 5.5J with the above set of tyres?

Edit; can someone provide me with links to Plati/League alloys website?

5j rims will cause no issues with 165/60-13 but with 5.5j rims the rear tyres might foul which can be solved by minor modification.

Go for alloys by all means. 13" is not an issue as the old Zen also came with 13", which MS downgraded (at the cost of handling) to 12" due to frequent rim damage. My son was in Manipal with a Zen having 13" wheels and he had to get one rim or another starightened every few months. However, his friends who had changed to Alloys never had a problem. Later he had an Alto VX with 12" wheels. We still had a problem (less frequent now) of rim damage.

The main issue is whether you can get the alloys of the right width. 5" are tough to find (but do exist).

I think the best set in 13" would be 155/65R13 5J.

I have XM1 155/70R13 on 5.5J Plati in my Alto and the rear tyre scraps the wheel well.
But problem may be to find 5J rims. According to Michelin XM1 155/70R13 specifications, the correct size for rims is 5J.

Zak,
What alterations can be done? How to do it?
My rear tyres already have cuts on side walls due to fouling with the wheel well.

Default alloys

you can go for 13" alloys n 165/65 r13 tyres they look cool without effecting cars performance much. i put them in my m800 and they give a better ride and grip on road. but on the negetive side they decrease life of wheel axles and suspensions. but overall they are nice.

Interesting info but wrong.

Will 165/60 R13 be the right option for 5J?

Michelin India - XM1

It seems Michelin XM1 not available in 165/60R13

Are these rim sizes for tyres manufacturer specific?

I too have 13'' with 165/65 Michelin XM1's and its almost 7 to 8 months and i did travel a lot infact done a Bangalore-Mumbai-Bangalore recently without any hiccups. The only downside with indian brands "aura and neo" are you dont have much variety and designs as compared to League,Hijoin,Lenso,Plati Etc. However in case of Aura i suppose u have a warranty of 1 year where as with other imported brands you dont have one.

yea Michelin XM1 is not available in 165/60 R13 which you can get from Bridgestone Potenza's for the same dimensions and with Michelins you have 165/65 R13 and i have it on my Alto Vxi 1.1 ...no issues as such.
