What difference in ride quality, if any, is experienced with a slightly wider tyre. For instance, going from 165/65R13 to 175/60R13

Now, I'm not exactly sure how much I should expect for the trade-in. I was hoping some of you guys might have a better perspective on this. I do not wish to readily agree with what the dealer quotes; so if I had an approximate price range, I could possibly bargain or fabricate something to the effect that I could have the similar set-up done elsewhere for considerably less.
Also, I can't seem to decide between Goodyear and Bridgestone.
I am, sort of, on a budget and welcome some comments/suggestions.

Thanks
Hi, i also intend to the same thing once i get the delivery of my xeta. I checked with the dealer itself and he quoted 18K for 5 rims and was not willing to trade in for the one's that came as standard fitting. I'll check in the market on tuesday and post here..

Hi all,
Help me to trade my tyres for new Potenza GIII for Santro. I rang up a dealer(picked up from bridegestone india website) and he quoted price of 3000rs/piece for 185*70 r13. He told me that i won't get anything for my 155 bridgestone stock tyres which have run for 27k kilometers. Tyre is in good condition and no puntures till now. Whats the price which i can expect (if i can sell!!)? Is it worth calling other dealers?
Thanks,
Lee

U'll be lucky if u get something for your old 27K kms done tyres, better u use it for another 10K kms n then get it changed..

185/70-13 for 3K is ok price wise....but not size wise for your Santro....

Santro sizes:
155/70-13 Stock
165/65-13 u get Turanza tyres
175/60-13 GIIIs

Just curious..why would you want Potenza GIII in a santro...in a Santro the car would topple over before even the regular 155/70 Bridgestones give up their grip... I for one would want my car to skid than topple over..
I also have a Santro and I shifted to 165/65 R 13 Goodyear Eagle GA+ tubeless that I paid Rs 1900/tyre for..
In my view it is better to loose lateral grip than topple over... and wide tyres provide exceptional grip only when cornering.....if your grip is like a vice on the road.. the car may topple over.. the st line stopping distance is not much different

Just think about it... cars with High CG like Santro....better to lose grip than to loose it all.
I also have a Baleno.. and here sice CG is pretty low.. yuo can go as wide as you like
