Agree, difference should be less than atleast 2% from what I've heard.

That said, side profile of 50 would impact ride quality considerably and put high chances of rim damage in case of driving on bad roads.

Hi guys,

Has anyone used the Hankook Optimo ME04 185/70 R13 86T tyres? How are they?

I need to change my current Bridgestone Potenza GIII's on my Baleno and I am getting a great deal on these (@3500 - the others are all 4500-5000).

The only thing holding me back is that the sidewalls feel thinner than the others and the speed rating for these is T (190 kmph) while the others (including my current set) are H (210 kmph).

Tried searching but cannot find anything on these (lots on the Ventus RS2's though - but they do not come in R13 sadly).

Decided not to go with the 16'' alloys and have picked up the used swift 14'' rims. Thinking of 185/70 R14 size tubeless tyres on stock 14'' swift rims. Will this fit on stock rims. Since i want to increase the GC i wish to go for this. Please comment.

Have purchased Michelin XM2 for my baleno yesterday. The size is 185/70 R14 on stock swift rims. Till now run about 100kms. Sound level was very low on highways. The cost was 16500 after exchanging with 13'' tyres and rims.

Should be zilch man. Go to any tire dealer and he should be able to give you a set of 5 for 500 bucks(used ones). Never pick up from the showroom.
If you were in Bangalore I would gotten you a set for a real cheap.

Hi rjstyles,

I live in Bangalore and planing to change tyres in couple of months. I had asked about the Wagon R Lxi rim size in another thread and found that the Wagon R Lxi 2007 stock rim size is 4J. I am planing to replace existing tyres with 165/60R13 which would not fit in 4J rims. Hence I am looking for a cheaper option than buying alloys.

Regards.

Wagon R rims on a baleno ? Listen pick up a set of used swift wheels, they are a perfect fit for the baleno. Get a set of 14 inch tires and you are good to go.
Another option is to see if you can source the old Corolla 15 inch alloys for the baleno. They truly looked hot on the baleno and is a perfect fit for the baleno.

Either ways since you are in bangalore and in case you need help send me a PM.

Hi,

Looks like I have created lot of confusion here. The reason I asked my first question about the price of used rim was only to get idea about fair price , I am using Wagon R Lxi with stock rim and tyres and planing to replace tyres.

Since wider tyres won't fit into the OEM 4J rims of Wagon R I wanted to know if I can get used 13 inch rims from tyre shop. This would be cheaper alternative to buying alloys.

Regards.

Swift rims (non MGA) are a direct fit on the baleno and cost 300 rupees per rim in Chennai, the MGA ones cost a little above 1000/- Rupees for each. If you exchange you old rims, the tyre dealer would reduce 25% of the total cost.

Hi All,

Sub: Baleno (or Accent) steel rim for Wagon R (13 inch)

I am looking for Baleno 13inch 5 J rims. Are these still available at MGP stores and has someone recently purchased this in Bangalore. I need this for Wagon R and would use these with 165/60R13.

Also if someone has recently purchased please share approx price for a set of four.

If this is not available then I believe we can use Hyundai Accent steel rim which is again available in 13 inch 5J, but I am not sure about the offset. Fellow members and experts might have better idea about this.

Regards.

Here is the correct upsize for the Waggy

155/65-13 Best upsize
165/60-13
175/60-13
185/55-13

Stock Steel Rim size is 13x 4j . Baleno steel rims were 5J IIRC, most likely to foul around with the wheel arches. You might want to check this and yes the Accent's steel wheel is a direct fit for the baleno. Both are 100 PCD and 5J.
Once again please go to any tire dealer in town and you will find a pair of used rims for zilch.

Got my baleno tyre changed to Micheline XM2 175/75-R13. The tyre noise is significanlty less now

The price was 4350. Don't know if it is too high or not. I was in a hurry to get it changed and go for a long drive.

Hopefully its sorted. //Vinoth

Thanks for that info. I did change it in an authorized service centre in Bangalore @ UM Cars who do reasonably a good job. Will do a check for sure...
Sorry for the 2 year delay. It was only a lower arm problem in the car which coated around 10k and the car is back on road with no issues. Thanks all for the advice.

Help!
I'm changing the tyres on my car after a freak accident (Yokohama A-Drive Reviews).
I need tyres in the stock size(185/65 R14).
Requirements:1)They should have a sturdy sidewall.
2)Good dry and wet grip.
3)Durable.
4)Low noise.
Based on the opinions of my friends I have shortlisted:
1)Bridgestone Turanza AR-20
+Most(of my friends) say that the Bridgestones have good sidewall protection.
2)GoodYear Eagle F1 GS-D3
+Stock tyres were from the same manufacturer and was abuse friendly.
3)MRF *something*
+Cheap,great sidewall protection and durable.
My order of preference 1>2>3.
Any other recommendations?
