Question WagonR Tire upsize Yes or No?

As you all know, bitten again by the bug. I want to know, would it be ok to upgrade to 14 inch alloys/Tubeless for my WagonR, or should i buy 13 Inch alloys? Please noe that now i have decided to keep the car and not for a exchange for a Baleno/Fiesta. So its going to stay with me atleast for next 2-1/2 years.

If 14 inch is ok, what tire size 185/60? And lastly which tire? Approx cost.
If 13 inch, what size 165/60? Again which tire? Approx cost.

Man this is an expensive hobby.

hi hyper vtech
i would suggest you stick to 13" rims for the wagonR. i had also considered the upsize to 14 for my esteem, but ditched it because definitely the ride quality will suffer. i cannot compensate on that. get a 175/70/R13. that should be fine & if you want to change to alloys, get 13" alloys.

@E_L:The WagonR's OE size is 145/70/R13(source:ACI).
It would be CRAZY to use the esteem's size on the wagon R.And im sure 14inch tires' tread width in India start at 175mm .
@Hyper-vtec:
If u're upsizing, get 155/65/R13 if its available...it would suffice.
U live in baltimore and call this an expensive hobby?

I come to Baltimore for official purposes for 3-6 months/year, but earn Indian salary

Ok..so no upsize, then would 165/60/13 be ok? Which tire? How much?

Nitrous are you against upsizing too. I have searched the forum and could not find anyone with a WagonR who has upsized to 14inch.

I have dropped the idea of upsizing/alloy/tubeless as i have decided to sell my car within next summer. Now there is a problem. Last summer on a trip to Mysore my car hit a pothole and one of the tires (stock: JK Tire Ultima) had developed a wall crack about 2 inches. I am using it as a stepney. Now i have noticed that one of the rear tire walls has developed a minor "not a crack" but a 1/2 inch rubber peeled off.

I am planning on a trip to Kodaikanal next month and obviously wont travel with the damaged tires.

Now the questions:
1. Should i change only the totally damaged tire and get a new one. Would it be wise to source one from the local "tirewalla"?
2. Should i change both the tires. If yes, should i put the new ones in front/rear?
3. I wanted to change all tires to Bridgestone S322, but they have only 155/65/R13, whereas the stock JK Tyre Ultimas are 145/70/R13. If i buy 2 new Bridgestone, would it affect ride, FE or any other problems beacuse of the size difference?
4. What are the approx. prices of these tyres in Bangalore.

Please consider that i am plaaning to sell the car within next 9-10 months.
