I seriously feel you should try BBS now! They are also right up there with OZ (if not better) in terms of quality, appeal and price.

BTW, the last we spoke you said you were going in for Lenso MW's?? What happened with that plan? But honestly if i were you, i would get the Lenso MW's and spend the remaing cash and get a hot set of HID's coz i know how crazy you are about them .

Now thats what i call hitting the nail on the head! Am i not right Mr.Garfield?

Cheers

Dude!! The designs available with OZs are way better than those offered by BBS or Lenso. Practically all the designs of BBS are multi-spoke and look the same and thats why im really not considering them. Except for just one design from the Samurai series, Lenso designs don't impress me much either :-(

Hi Guys,

Found a new dealer for OZ Racing wheels called W Auto and is situated at Madurai, Tamilnadu. They hve advertised in the July 2008 issue of the Overdrive Auto Magazine. Had enquired for a set of 16" OZ Racing Canova wheels and he gave me a price of INR 70,000/ for 04!!!!! I think thats way too much for OZs. Don't know what he was thinking!

Question michelin PP2 or Bridgestone G3 for Skoda?

Hi,
I just got back to the country and my tyre change has been pending for over 4-5 months now. I am gonna get it done this weekend. Its a 1.8TPI and it gets pushed around.
I have gotten 2 quotes: 6200/- for pp2 and 5700/- for G3's which ones should I get? I stay in Pune/Mumbai so you guys know the roads. The size I am opting for is 205/60R15 or 205/65R15 (Only in G3 as this is V rated.)
Guys please help me out here..
Thanks a lot.

I would suggest more than a 205 size tyre for a 150bhp car.
And PP2 is leagues ahead of the G3,in public opinion.

Don't know about G3, but PP2 is excellent.

Yes,
And I have gone thru 2 sets of tyres in 30K Kms!!!
One set of NCT3's and one of NCT5's, call it abuse if you would like.

I am on my 3rd set of PP2 now on my Octy. Each set has served me well for 40k Kms.Although mine is a diesel and cant do speeds like the 1.8T but still.
Grip is awesome, tyre noise is also comparitively low.

....ok an update I went with Bridgestone G3 for 5100/- in 205/60R15 and so far I haven't really had time to test it much except for on the drive back. The car is giving some Knocking problems and my engine light has come on.
They (Skoda) will collect the car tomorrow and I will know over the weekend what is wrong. I am suspecting some electronic problem in the engine, like SparkPlugs or ignition colis or something of that sort..

So far I have only noticed that the ride has become better, the steering a bit stiffer and meaningful.
Even the wheel spin on accleration has reduced, I want to try out some tight corners or the Expressway next.

These are only rated at H so speed rating is of 210Kmph, but as far as I remember I have touched 230K atleast on the speedo and my previous tyres were V rated so it was fine to take it about there.
Now with there H rated tyres is this a big no no? Or crossing 210K on H is ok for a while, I will never stay at the speed for more than a few minutes at the max...?
what is the science behind the speed ratings?

Hi Nanu...I read through the whole of this long thread! Your Tpi must have run on the Bridgestones for more than 2 years now. Are these Tyres better than the NCT5 ? My Tpi has run about 10000 km on the original NCT5. Not too happy with these tyres. The front two are already showing wear. I want to replace by PP2 or the G3. What do you advice pl ?
