my rims are standard rims (OEM).

Last night I came back after 2 months, and guess what the pressure was(cold late night)
Front 28psi, rear 30psi.
They were filled on a hot August day in the afternoon at 32psi.

Thumbs up Aceleres for My Indica too

@tsk1979

Im planning to fit my Indica 2004 DLS with 175/60 R13 Aceleres on the OE Rims. I do not want a very wide tyre (as in 186/60 R13) Is this the correct upsize for me ?

Thanks

Aditya

185/60R13 is the correct upsize(Your diameter remains the same).
The comparable upsize is 175/65 if you want a thinner tire

I think there's no tyre available in 175/65-13
Either get 165/65-13 or 185/60-13

I checked the tyre upsize calculator, according to it 175/60 R13 is a correct upsize. The speedo error is 0.8% and the Sidewall Height decreases by 2mm. This much error is insignificant, Right ?

Yes its okay. 2mm is not much. But you get 175/65 in the market I think.
No 175/60 available..
That said go for 185/60R13. I have been using that size since my car had done 37000kms. Its at 87+ now and I have faced no issues till now, and FE is also good.
Apollo accelere are doing great.

Tyres available in 175/60-13
1. Potenza GIII
2. Yokohama A539
3. Apollo Acelere

I'm yet to see one tyre in 175/65-13.

Hi T-Bhp Gurus here,

I'm running my Indica Turbo DLG on stock rims - R14s with an upgrade size of 185/65 Potenza G3s.

The grip seems awesome, no doubt, but there is the persistent tyre noise that i seem to be getting.

Is this normal or should i just assumign that damping the car will reduce the road-noise factor.

Any help here will be appreciated.

Cheers,

Any V Tread pattern will be noisier than the normal tread. That is one drawback of the G-III

Shrikanth

GIIIs are little noisy bcos of its thread pattern as mentioned by tsk1979.
Then tend to be noisy at high speeds above 80kmph but below that speed i haven't noticed any significant noise level in my car.
How many kms have u done with GIIIs..?

I completely agree with both of you there - Kpzen & tsk.

The noise levels on the G3s act up a bit on increased speeds but die out over higher speeds.

My g3s have run 6.3K kms as of now. Have been around on my new vehicle for abt a 2 months now.

Also, maybe i am assuming that it should be more silent as my earlier indica was riding on Mich-X1's. They are definately quieter though and that has been my observation.

On a tangential topic, i seem to notice something strange.

Case 1 - Indica DLX'99 - Clocked over a lakh kms - speed of 100kmph the rpm stays at 2k or slightly higher at 2.1K

Case 2 - Indica Turbo DLG'07 - Clocked 6.3k kms - speed of 100kmph the rpm stays at 2.5K or slightly higher at 2.7K.

is this normal or do i have a problem on hand that needs further investigation.

Your advice will help.

Cheers

the old indica tachometer is faulty, or the speedometer is faulty. rpm at 100kmph should be around 2.5K not 2K

Hi Tsk,

That certainly helps. Rest assured, the old warrior is showing signs of age then.
