About wanderer, it does not seem to be an A/T tire. Too Highway like tread pattern.

Guess I will stick to Cross contact A/T unless I can find BFG All Terrain TA/KO
Sure? I have seen new Safari's with Hawkz 2-3 years ago and have read few having it at TBHP.

Safari stock size is 235/60 R16. So sidewall diff is negligible.
However, safari stock rim is 6.5J.
Is 7.0J the minimum required for ths size? Or will 255 fit fine on stock rim.
Been running the same size 255/65-R16 , Geolanders on my scorpio's stock rims. AFAIK the Scorpio's stock rim width is 6.5J and this size fits perfectly.

How did you arrive at this, I mean the sidewall similarity ?

Could be with the Safari , I drive a scorpio and no such problems. Definitely worth a try by putting them on the Dicor and checking.

Why not jk, the next up-size for a 235 is 255 on a 6.5J rim.Am I missing something here ?

That is the Hawkz A/T, not the R/T
Hawkz RT is a totally different tire.

Folks i will be getting my truck next week sometime, very likely its going to have Duellers.
my usage will be mostly highway/bad roads and some offroad.

Does it make sense to stick with Duellers or try something else?

Safari 4x4 or 4x2? If you plan to do rocky roads in offroad terrain, get A/T tires
Talk to a tire dealer in advance, you can get 5000+ per bridgestone as exchange value.
Any A/T tire such as continental cross contact, Apollo hawkz AT etc will do

I'm having Bridgstone Duller AT's in my Jeep and they seem to have a pretty rugged sidewall. Its more than one time, I have escaped from tree stumps.

So, if you are intending to go through rocky terrain, I'd advise that.

Lohit, why don't you upgrade to Yokohama Geolandars ATS, they will suit your requirement perfectly. Geolandars are currently 6750/- per tyre in Bangalore.

It is. I felt more confident just after I moved to Geo from Duel when doing high speeds. And I guess braking too improved.

Lohit, let us put it like this, most of the safaris and scorpios on the road today are running on stock OE tyres, I don't think everyone is complaining, but we guys on the forum think and experience the "extra" knowledge via the forum and want to change and then "experience" the change, obviously the phoren brands are better as the technology used is ahead of our manufacturers, but then one has to understand the driving style of the user and the extra cost involved in changing into a more expensive tyre from a perfectly ok OE set of tyres.
This is strictly my observations and any ignorance of facts is to be blamed entirely on my opinion (in other words, trying to avoid being flamed ).

I think i spoke early, the dealer calls me up and says i would need to pay the difference amount of 7k for this swap, is it a decent deal?
