Can somebody please tell me what will be the exact advantage if we replace
the stock tyre of getz prime 1.3 GLS with Michelin XM1 175/70 R13?

Also If can we go for good alloys after putting Michelin XM1 175/70 R13?
Means is there any chance of restriction because of the tyre change to Michelin XM1 175/70 R13?

Can somebody post photos of the car having these tyres?

@Hrishig - if you replace the stock tyres with Michelins (of the same size), you would get -
1. Better safety (tubeless tyres) and
2. Better ride (as Akshay1234 has mentioned)

The 13" Michelins are not the energy series, so they wouldn't help FE.

AFAIK, the stock size on the GLS is 175/70 R13, so there shouldn't be any restriction if you change to Michelins. Putting on 13" alloy would not have any problem.

The GLS model comes with 175/70-13 tyres. You can check that out at the showroom.
175 looks much better than the punny 155/80-13 which comes with other models.
Alloys will only improve the looks of the car.

I spoke with Darshan Tyres here in Pune, and he is offering to change my stock 175/70 R14 Bridgestone tyres to Michelins Energy XM1 for Rs. 5000 (same size as stock) and Rs. 6750 (for 185/60 R14).

Is this a good deal?

Yes, the price quoted is for exchange of my brand new Bridgestone tyres. They would have less than 25 km on them at the time of exchange.

So, what say guys, is this a good deal?

EDIT: There is an error in my previous post. My stock tyres are 175/65 R14 and not 175/70 R14.

I run 195/60/R14 Bridgestone turanza's on my getz 1.3,no issues so far. except for the hassle of having to wash the car every day 'coz of mud being splashed onto the doors.

Default Tyre replacement for Getz Prime GLS

I own a Getz prime GLS bought in 2007. The car came with Goodyear 175/70/R13 tyres which I replaced with Bridgestone 175/70/R15 S322 immedietly. It's been nearly 4 years and 60,000 kms now and I want to change the tyres again. I am going to maintain the same tyre size. Couple of questions,

1. I have been recommended either Bridgestone or Michelin. Which one would be a better option to go for? Bridgestone S322/turanza or Michelin XM1+. My usage is mostly Bombay-Pune along with some city driving.
2. Is it good to change all 4 or opt for 2 at a time considering 2 tyres may still be good enough.
3. What would be an approximate cost of the tyres?
4. Would the old tyres fetch anything?

Thanks.

1-Since you've already used S322 earlier,i guess you should now go ahead with Michelin XM1+.
2-If budget is not problem,i guess you should go ahead with all 4 tyres, though 2 will also work.
3-Approximate cost will be somewhere around 4000/per tyre.
4-Old tyres would fetch around 300-400 rs for all tyres,if they have completed 45000kms,or may fetch more if tyres are in better condition.

I hope the R15 was a typo. You can try 185/65 R13 if you want a bit more grip, which will be good considering you do Bombay-Pune a lot. Get the Michelins, it will be a huge upgrade over the S322. Or even look at the Bridgestone Turanzas.

Aviraj

1. Michelin XM1/ Yokohama A drives/ Apollo Aceleres are best tires available in 175/70-13.
2. Changing all four is advisable. How good are the tires after 60000 kms ?
3. 3200 ~ 3400 per tire. (Approx)
4. 200 ~ 400 Rs. Depending upon the condition.

The price you're quoting is less,as last month my neighbor picked up bridgestone turanza for his santro(stock size) for 3300/-,so i guess 175 section would be around for 3700-4000,depending upon company to company.
