I do as well, based on the recommended interval in the vehicle handbook but even then 65k is one hell of a lot. 51k is the max I've got

Recently I was shown by my tyre dealer a set of 5 tyres - Bridgestone Dueler A/T tubeless having done about 800 kms. The specs of the tyre is - 31 X 10.5 X R15.

SuperView of the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo

If I get a good deal then might change the Scorpio's tyres early as well..

Car: Santro Xing
Tyres: Bridgestone Potenza GIII 175/60 R13 on alloys.
Lasted for 36K. Two of them were in good condiation and could have lasted for another 5K Kms but I replaced all of them.

Well..My Accent CRDi eats tyres every 20K kms.. I drive fast, brake hard, corner hard. The OE bridgestones are useless above 120..and pray if you touch a patch of water!

The second set - Michelin XM1 energy [175/70 R 13] - excellent grip cornering all till about 40K kms - the same story thereafter. The tyres still have around 2-3 mm of sipes in them are ok to drive under 120 and in dry weather [Thanks to Chennai ]

This car of mine eats its tyres..Am thinking of changin my car anyways, so ntil then nursing the tyres.

BTW, its real fun to do 180 deg turns now that my tyres are wearing out.

@ishan or any tyre guru: Tell me a good brand to buy: loosing faith in Michelins

That's interesting! Vikram, does this happen only with the fronts or the rears too?

Hi,

It can't be generic. I had a Viva CRDi between Nov 04 and Nov 05. At 750kms, I replaced the original tubed tyres to Indian Goodyear GPS2 tubeless OEM size tryes. It had run 22121kms when it was sold.

Even the front tyres looked new with all that kms.

My stock Bridgestone radials that came with my WagonR are still going strong, despite munching 43500 kms. Had only 3 punctures so far, all of them after 41 K kms.

All 4 tyres..as i rotate them every 5K kms..

OT:
Am searching for a car thats fun in the 140 - 180 range and is DIESEL and under 10L. The skoda fabia sucks..am yet to check out the Getz CRDi,

The Tata Safari and the Mahindra Scorpio mhawk seem interesting too. But am a little concerned about trouble free performance and good accelaration and handling are very important as i spend close to 6 hours + per day in my car.

Even if they are boosted (Powerbox etc.) the Safari/Scorpio will not be cruising in the 140-180 kmph band. Atleast not on a regular basis. Plus high-speed handling is another issue. I would still suggest you look a Getz/Elantra/Verna. With the Pete's box it should only make them even more potent.

U're a Hyundai guy?
Verna is a BAD handler.Bad for a driving enthusiast.
Getz, I haven't driven but from the reviews and experiences, bad braking and softly sprung too.
Elantra is ok. But, stock availability?

Swift ZXi - JK Vectras in 185/70/R14 size. Lasted for 42000+kms! Still it would've done another 5000kms! Amazing factor is that those tyres were complimenting decent handling even at 42000 kms!!!
Any single km after 35-38K is bonus for me as I do abuse the tyres very badly!
A big salute to JK Vectra!

I did not mean in that way. I meant the tread part and relative to mileage. I just don't have any photos to show you, though!
