Default Repair Alloy - Is it possible?

I went to a tyre shop at Wilson Garden to get alignment done for my Car. The guy there claims that they repair bent Alloys. I always thought alloys don't bend or disfigure, they break on high impacts. However he showed me an alloy which was bent at the edge and was being taken for repair.

He claimed that there is some secret place where they do it and no one is allowed in that place.

In this thread let us discuss the following points,

1) Do alloys bend or disfigure?
2) Can they be repaired?
3) Can scratches be removed by polishing or buffing?

When Deeper scratches , get it repainted

In that case, what is the cost involved in removing the bend?

Also let me know if you know any places in Bangalore who do a decent job.

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Possible - Even for deep scratches. But I would not recommend it as the alloys tend to lose tensile strength and tend to bend/crack easily after the process. Same hold good for chroming as well. However painting could be a better alternative.

Cheers,
Rajan

Does anyone know the process involed in removing the bend?

If heating is involved, won't it affect the alloy?

Yes it looses its strength, but seen alloys getting repaired even after breaking in 2 pieces but i doubt that will that much perfection after reparing them.
