Default New Alloys for Chevrolet optra Magnum LT

Hi all,

I have my new Chevy Magnum since about 4 months now. Pics uploaded. Wanna change to some really radical new alloys and tyres. Even thinking of upsizing upto 17-18 inchers. Please suggest what would be best. Budget in the range of about 35,000.

Thanx
SUNNY

Sunster - Nice looking ride. Up sizing the whees to 17"/18" will spoil the Magnum's major USP - the ride. IMHO, at most you could look at 16"ers.
Though the stock alloys look YUCKY, I'm keeping those and going for better tires.
Your budget of 35k is only for the alloys right?

Hey Shuvd...

I dunno what I might get if I exchange the tyres to something better as well as change the alloys. Do you think I shud upgrade from the stock Goodyear GT3s.

I guess optra has 195/60/R15. You could go for

16''

205/50/R16 (best upsize)
215/50/R16

17''
205/45/17
215/45/17

Experts please confirm.

Nirmal..

Thanx for the input. Just spoke to a dealer who recommended the Goodyear Eagle F1s. Read the poll post too and they seem to be good. How much of a difference would 16" and 17" make in terms of ride, handling and Fuel Eff.

Thx

Stay away from that dealer and goodyears.

I agree with shuvd, the USP of this car is comfort so upgrading to 17" will only ruin that. I would suggest u to get 205/55-15 Yoko S drives on stock alloys.

@ Sunster - Burn the stock GT3s. Really, burn them literally.. 16/17/18s would definitely improve the handling. But, at the cost of ride. Plus, IMHO 17/18s are an overkill for Indian roads.
As the gent from Free-da-bad said, stay away from F1s. Try to get Yokos/Michs/BFGs.

@ Kpzen Free-da-bad wale - S Drives will be good for 1.1s too.

Magnum does not have much space for bigger tyres dont go beyond 205.
As KP said 205/55 R15 or 205/50 R16 CAN BE GOOD EQUATIONS.

Hmmm... Thats what I suspected. There doesn't seem to be too much room for 17-18" ers. Guess Ill have to go the 16" way. What do you think should be a good price for the yoko S.Drives.

Thanks!

So guys, easy to find 16" rims for Magnum?
I'm looking to pick up a pair for my cousin's car in a tasteful/new design.
