To Rudra :
You mentioned the Potenza RE 711 in another thread. Are those the same tyres you have on your Optra? How much do they cost?

Ofcourse, my tyres will cost slightly lesser than whatever you paid, since i'll be going in for 195/60 R 14s and not 205/55 R 15s.

Ahem... ya, I've been trying to figure out which ones to buy too. The GIIIs are quite decent, ok very good - the tread shows that it'll have unbeatable ability in the wet - tis just that, well, its not normally wet. I drove them (a friends Accent) and they do grip quite well. I still need to know what to choose - Pilot Precedas(Michelin), GIIIs(B'Stone) or Eagle F1(Goodyear). Someone just tell me and I'll get them..

PS there's this Bridgestone performance shop on the outer ring road (near the Innovative Multiplex) who sells D3s. They cost 3250/tyre. The GIIIs cost 3300/tyre.

What size are these tyres? Coz the last time i checked with Prithvi, he told me the GS D2s were 3350/tyre and the GIIIs were 3600 +/- 100/tyre. These prices are for the 195/60 R14 sizes.

Shan2nu, for 205/50 R15 (RE 711) I paid 5600/- each. From Hot Tracks.
May be that Bridgestone performance shop can give you a better rate.

hey shan i got 195/60 r14 yokohama for my GTX. not sure how it compares with the good year though. i got it as i read rave reviews of the tyre both on and off the track. so thought i'll give it a try.

its been pretty impressive. just check it out and see if its ok.

If i'm not mistaken, iceman, don't you have Yokohamas on your car too? The ride quality seemed good (even on bad roads) and were talking 50 profile tyres here.

Is that really a question?
The Eagle F1 GS-D3s vs. any road legal tire that yokohoma makes, for street use?

Well, you know what my vote is for!

Well, they do sell BS and Gd-Yr but, these 2 models seemed to be outa stock at that time.

I asked Prithvi (the guy with the R1 and the 600RR) but even called up a few places and told me that the D2s and the GIIIs wouldn't be available until mid or end of March (that's the same reply the Hubli dealer gave me, and why not....chances are he contacted Prithvi himself. Hehe

Let me know if you know of any other places where GIIIs are readily available. Will probably ask them to dispatch the set through VRL or Kamat travels.

Harrie,

Are your 195/60 Yoks on the original rims? How does the steering feel with them? And do they touch the bodywork?..because I was planning to upgrade from the stock 175/65 S322s on my S10.
