@finneyp
thanks, that was quite helpful, though it took a couple of hours to read. I think XM1s would do for me.

Expecting delivery of my MJD tomorrow, rather today!(read post midnight). There is a long weekend and the associated trip ahead, will post post weekend about the tyres.

Can somebody suggest me the correct upsize and better tyre brand n model? Im inclined towards Yokos.

Thanks..
Cant help with upsize (since i have a 2002 palio 1.2), but can help you with a recommendation for yokohama a drives after a lot of R&D and actual use.

Just upsized my 1.2 to 185/70/R13 and it is an amazing feeling.

Got them from Saifee tyres in santacruz. Great people, great service and great mechanics for alignment. I would highly recommend them.

Hi Guys,

Need some help from tyre and palio gurus. I am looking to replace my stile 1.1 shoes and would need suggestions.

I wouldn't want to upsize preferably as I would like to keep my cars in stock condition as much as possible with no modification (I know I am boring) so want to stick to stock specifications which is 165/80 R13 but need something with less noise as noise from current goodyear is really like growling.

So was looking for Michelin XM1 or Turanza ER-60 but open to suggestions for others.

Humans, it is very difficult to get the stock size 165/80 R13 in the market.

You can go for 185/70 R13, it is available in Michelin XM1+, not sure about Turanza.

Thanks Finneyp for the quick response, will it affect the ODO readings?

Yes it will but only marginally.

I changed my stock tyres to Yokohama A-Drives last month. I am quite happy with them. They have reduced the noise levels and the stability at high speeds on highways has improved a lot.

Best upsize is 185/70 R-13

Thanks for the info, Genisis and Finney!

The correct upsize for my Stile 1.6 would be 185/60/14. Below are available for both stock and upsize tyres:-

For upsize, i.e. 185/60/14:
Yoko A Drives
Bridgestone Potenza GIII
Turanza ER-300

In Stock Size, i.e 175/65/14:
Turanza ER-60
Yoko A Drives

I'm contemplating between these 2 sizes and models!

Default MJD with XM1s

All,

The delivery of my MJD got delayed by yet another week or so, anyways, took delivery on 8th Oct, swapped to Michelin XM1+ 185/70 R13 on 9th Oct(wallet leaner by 8.5k).

The ride quality is really something, was quite surprised(even after reading all the feedback in this forum). Thanks to fellow BHPiians who pitched in their experience, did paly a major part on the decision to go for XM1s.

Guys, I am planning to upgrade the tyres on my 1.6 Stile as well. The size will be 185/60/14. Planning to shift to Goodyear Assurance, the worry free warranty is quite attractive after I have lost a couple of tyres to bulges/ sidewall damage. Anybody has any experience running these tyres on their rides?

Did you checked out their new model 'Duraplus'? The tire looks great and has a 1Lac km warranty i suppose.

The sales guy said the Assurance and Duraplus are doing good in market.

100 PCD will be an issue. Do look out in the forum in various threads discussing about this.
