Hi All,
I am planning to change my Palio 1.6 sport (2007 model). I am very much tempted towards 195/60/R14 Bridgstone Potenza GIII.
I read all the posts and looks like only concern is ride quality with 195. Can some one tell me how worst the ride quality (from their experience)?
Thanks in advance.

Looks like reliance autozone in HSR is giving good price. Just FYI.

195/60 will be a higher profile compared to the OEM tyres so the ride should be much better but why get bridgestone ? I remember reading that the Potenza is an outdated tyre

Hi Bottle,
Thanks. Will Michelin XM1+ with 195/60R14 will be a good choice?

If you are going in for 195/60 R14, then dont even think of any tyre except the Continental CPC2. It's a way better tyre than all it's competitors in that size and substantially cheaper as well.

Another really good option is the 185/65 R14 Yoko C drive.

Yes AD07 is available in 195/60 R14.

How much do CPC2 retail in the same size? Will the 5.5J OE alloys hold them properly?

AD07s are available in 195/60 R14. Cost = 5.2k per tyre.

CPC2 = 4k.

5.5j alloys are good enough for 195/60 R14. No worries.

Any options available in the 175 sizing? I'm trying not to upsize the tyres, but am In love with the Yoko A drives on my friends Palio.

Are the A drives available in 175?

@ Nikhil

I am getting a MJD from the Dhamaka 2010 offer, I suppose the standard tires are 165/80/R13. I have a set of new Adventure alloys, please confirm if CPC2 in size 195/60R14 would be a good choice than ES100 of the same size as I had the later in my Gtx. Also let me know the latest prices and better choices if any?

Cheers,

Makesh.R

Default Michelin XM1+ for FIAT Palio Stile

Hi Friends,

One of the tires on my car was badly damaged due to improper alignment and wheel balancing due to my carelessness, the steel was eventually seen. So I chucked the tire off and bought a Michelin XM1+ 175/70/13. The stock tires on my car are the Goodyear ones which came with the car.My car has run close to 40k kms. And looks like it can run another 5-10k kms more. I plan to change the complete set of tires in 2 months time. Do you friends recommend the Michelin XM1+. I havent used the one i bought. Its the stepny now. and there is a change in the size, however. The Good year is 165/80/13 I think. I bought the Michelin for 3300 INR. Is this price alright for the tires. I am also looking at Pirellis. Do guide me.

3300 for michine is bit on higher side, in bangalore you will it for Rs 3100 including fitting and allignment . But the tyre is good, my bothers NHC had that lated for 50 K km and the ride quality is very good.

Consider Apollo Accelere as well it is a good tyre with little less money

XM1+ is a good buy. I do recommend it. Fixed 4 XM1+ tyres to my alto last week, and I am thoroughly impressed with it. Works very well offering a comfort ride and excellent grip in rains (90 - 100 kmph) on highways.

Just make sure the the tyre is fitted on the proper way on the rim. All XM1+ carry a "OUTSIDE" , "INSIDE" mark on the tyre walls. The tyres must be fitted in a way that the wall with "OUTSIDE" mark should be facing the outside of the rim (the rim side where you lock the screws). A good tyre mechanic knows this.'

I am upgrading my stock tyres on Stile this week. The newer size that I am looking at is 185/70 R13. All Michelin dealers in Pune (Lokmanya, N Mehta) are offering me the XM1+ for ~Rs. 4000 per tyre. Seems like Michelin has jacked-up the tyre prices in the last few months. Yoko A.drive are Rs. 3200 per tyre. Is it wise to go for Yokos', or do I stick with Michelin? Thanks.

I drive the Stile 1.6 Sports with stock GY GPS2 - 175/65/R14 tyres

Its been 24k kms with the stock tyres and since i drive mostly in cities than highways they have performed decently except in the rains and in expressway, the car seems to be floating.

I had one tyre replaced under warranty for a tyre bulge and now i've another one back again.

At 100+ speeds, the steering feels lifeless and vibrates. I feel its time to change these stock tyres. I've now narrowed down to the Yokohama C Drive - 185/60/R14. The tyre looks great as with the reviews online in terms of gripping and comfort both in dry and wet conditions.

I spoke with a dealer in Vashi - Sanghi tyres and he qouted Rs 4200/- while Premji Tyres at Mahim qouted 3900/-!

Both don't have the stock now. I'm surprised for the price difference and the Vashi dealer says while every other tyre company has up the prices, Yokos have hold up but in few days they would follow too. Is this true or the Vashi dealer is trying to fleece me??
