Do you have the MA-V1 or the MA-Z1 Victra ?

praful - as per the website, the Victra is not available in 195-60 R14 - so i guess KS is using the MA-V1

when i was looking for new tyres, a DBHPian recommended Maxxis. so i guess they should be good.

here is a review on Team BHP: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-a...xis-tires.html (How good are Maxxis tires)

@ Bottle / Rahul / Khan saab - How much air do you fill in the front / rear tyres (195-60-14)?

The tyre dealer filled 32 in front / rear and i have been filling up with 32. but the ride is a tad bit hard.

i used to fill 29 in the 175/65-14 tubetype tyres - wouldn't this 195s require more air?

i was weak in physics - someone later cleared that pressure PSi has no link to size of tyre / volume

the front left tyre was leaking air - there was a leak near the valve - got a new valve and reduced pressure to 30 in all. will reduce it further to 29 at the end of this week.

Thanks Ravin

The Palio Stile already has a extra suspension height beefed up and i guess the 185/65 profile would add more to it. Not a good idea for Palio Stile models. 185/60 would be the perfect upsize.

Buffetfan, i recollected what you suggested in previous post But maybe the 185/65 would work great in Honda but may not on Palio Stile.

P.S. I'm no expert in this.

@Rudrah: You're right that the Stile has a slightly raised suspension (also a bit softer) as compared to the older model. This in fact used to give the wheel arches an empty look (a bit like the Indica on 13" rims). The 185/65 makes the wheel well look proportionate IMO.
The other reason to upsize to 185/65 was that with 90% city driving (that too in BLR city!), ride comfort was more important than handling. The added side wall thickness has definitely helped here! For the rare spirited highway run, a slight over-inflation of tyres helps in improving handling.

How's your car doing on 185/60? What are the differences you feel?
cheers

Ok I get your point. Is it possible for you to put up a pic of it which would be helpful for me and others to understand how the 185/65 looks in the Stile 1.6 as compared to 185/60.

Well I still havent upgraded my tyres but should be doing in this week as the rains will soon be hitting Mumbai

Will update very soon!

@ Rudrah: One image on my Gallery shows the car with 185/65 tyres. Unfortunately I do not have images with the stock tyre for you to compare.

Let me know if you need to see more pics.
cheers
btw, about your signature - I used to feel the same till the Fiesta came into my life!!

At the moment, I'm unable to find your Gallery pics.

If you are talking about the fiesta 1.6 Sports then right. Its the perfect competitor to the Palio 1.6

I loved the way it gave me the punch at the push of the Accelerator! Very much fun to drive
