Question Tyre upgrade for NHC

Hi All,

I have a cousin who owns a stock NHC. He is a very sporty driver and enjoys driving very fast. However, he doesn't know much about cars. I have heard in this forum that the handling of NHC is not that great in winding roads. How can he improve the handling, what kind of tyres would do the trick without sacrificing much ride comfort?

Yup, the NHC has a tendency to understeer under hard cornering.

If you want a good balance between grip and ride comfort go in for 195/60 R14, 185/65 R14 or 185/60 R14.

For better handling with lower comfort levels, 195/50 R15, 195/55 R15 or 185/55 R15.

Thanks guys, so 195/60 R14 with comfort and 195/50 R15 for extreme handling. And ofcourse the struct braces, which I think has no effect on ride comfort.

How about some brand recommendation? Which particular tyres to buy?

195/60 R14: ?
195/50 R15: ?

you forgot about workin on the suspension a bit to get the perfect ride and handling for the tire change.

Well, what kind of minor tweaks can be done to the stock suspenssion without having to chance them? Will be useful even on my car.

Well, i guess it's not really possible to recomend just one tyre. But, here are a few names from my side, do an online research on them and see which satisfies your needs, the most.

1. Goodyear F1 Eagle GS D2 - on NC's and Rtechs cars
2. Goodyear NCT 5
3. Goodyear GPS 2 (correct me if i'm wrong)
4. Bridgestone Potenza G3 - on my car
5. Bridgestone RE711 - on Rudra's car.

Dunno about those since i didn't have to search for alloys as my car came with them. Iceman, Jigarmuni, Rehaan and Rudra should be able to tell you better.

Try this for starters - www.ozindia.com

yeah samurai,
if it can do wonders in a zen, then it should definitely work on a NHC.
strut braces with wider tires should definitely help your cousin.
