Default Alloys for UV-A

Hi friends,

I am to buy a Aveo UV-A soon. Could you guide me for suitable alloys for my to-be car. The stock tyres are 155/80 R13. Well, i am a newbee when it comes to footwear.

My requirements:
-The car should get a little upsize but width of tires should not exceed cars width.
-I dont have any idea of prices too. So do give me some suggestions for budjet options alongwith. Would apperitate if you can refer me to dealers in Delhi.

Thanks for reading

Hey RS,

From the size of stock tyres you mentioned, it seems you're going for the 1.2 or 1.2 LS model. The LT comes with 185/60 tyres.

I would suggest an upsize to 175/70 R13 or 185/60 R13. Both these sizes are easily available. Dont go beyond 185 though. Not only will the car's mileage go down, but your tyres will also tend to hit the sidewalls under hard cornering.

Both 175/70 & 185/60 are easily available sizes. My personal opinion would be to go for Bridgestone B250s or Yokohama A-Drives. These are good all-rounder tyres, offering the best compromise between silence, roadholding, comfort and durability.

For Alloys, since you're a Delhiite, close your eyes and trust Sai Mag Wheels. They're India's largest importer of alloys (Chinese & Korean). Get a pair of Freemans or HR and you're set.

Another option is to go for Indian Alloy wheels like Aura or Neo. In the 13" size they have a wide collection, and replacements will be more easily available in case of a breakage.

I really dont know how much they'll cost. However, I think the OEMs come factory fitted, and are not sold in the open market. So if one wants LT aloys on lower versions, he would have to inform the Dealership. They would then specially order the car. Could take some time.

At the same time, I really dont think its impossible. I was in Ahmedabad earlier, and there was this guy in the office building who had a green UV-A LS (I'm sure it was an LS) fitted with the broader tyres and OEM alloys.

So Rapidsnail, I suggest checking with your dealer to see if its possible.

The LT comes with 185/60 R14.

I changed the OEM alloys with after market. The OEM just looks like a different wheel cap design. You have to see them closely to make out difference from wheel cap.

Now my LT runs on after market 5 spoke and 195 / 60 R14 ER 60.

Will post snaps soon.

OT: Firebird, have you started parking your car in the B wing of Prism towers lately? I see a Cashmere UV-A parked on the 1st floor almost daily.

Yes, actually we can have one. Now, lets get back to the topic as I don't want an infraction of going OT or plan to hijack this thread.
