Hi Everyone,

I understood there are many threads already discussed about the Tyre upsize for Wagon-R. But this thread ONLY discuss about their feelings after the successful upgrade with Michelin XM1+ tyres.

Forgive me, First of all i did not upsize my Wagon-R with Michelin XM1+. Since, I was planning to upgrade it with Michelin XM1+ 155/65/R13 only after reading the reviews from Team-Bhp. But unexpectedly, I went to the tyre dealer along with my friend to change tyres for his ford iKon. During the change process, I asked the dealer guy(owner or so) about that I too want to upgrade my Wagon-R with Michelins and enquired about the total costs and all. But he said "For Wagon-R i suggests only CONTINENTAL tyres which are very good than Michelins". I wondered, and am back. But my T-Bhp membership was unapproved that time, so could not discuss anything further. Finally due to my urgency, I have changed them with CONTINENTAL tyres with 155/70/R13 EcoContact 3 profile.

But I honestly say it provides excellent grip, super silent, good ground clearance and amazing ride quality with super control over steering wheel. I did cool cornering with this during my last trip.

Intention of this New Thread:

This thread is intended to share your feelings/experiences/reviews about the Wagon-R s which are running Michelin XM1+ tyres (any profile 155/65 or 155/70 but STRICTLY xm1+ only). I just wanted to know your feelings which i was supposed get (if i put Michelin XM1+). I honestly do NOT want to make any comparisons between them, just curious to know your feelings and i want to travel with your feelings through this thread. Kindly do NOT mistake me, am pretty much comfortable with my CONTI tyres and i never regret my decision anyway. Thanks all.

I need to upgrade to xm1 or xm1+ so lets see how this goes.
By the way i was thinking of 165/55/R13 or 175/55/R13 not lower as i feel they are just too thin.

is there an XM1+ for wagon R? I believe that XM1+ starts only from 14" , and wagon R's have 13 inch rims

Here's one more thread . So would that make you change your tires or rather would it be fair if you were to clock a a few clicks on your brand new set of tires and add a review.

Hi greenhorn, Me too had a same doubt for xm1+ availablity for R13 rims. But nikhilb2008 says Michelin offers xm1+ energy tyres for 13" rims also. So that i initiated this thread. But Michelin website says xm1+ only for 14" and 15" series. Nikhilb200 , Please confirm this. According to me, xm1+ energy and xm1+ are NOT same. Only energy series starts from 14" above.

Hi Jebs,

A friend of mine had changed the rubber on his brand bew Wagon-R when I had suggested he change to Michelin XM1+.
He did the tyre change - unfortunately I wasn't in town then. Later he informed me that he has changed to XM1's since the dealer (Only michelin dealer in Thane) told him that XM1+ is not available for R13's.

Upgraded 4 tyres on my 800 from 145/70R12 MRF ZVTS to 155/70 R 12 XM1+. I too observe they are not listed in website.

I got my tyres from Millivision, Lalbhag road. Guess they are original ones. 2250/- each. Got 125/- for my 50k+ kms zvts which covered for the alignment etc.

They tyres are on the original rims, had to get all bends fixed for the rims used. Have retained one old trye for spare.

Hi,

Upsized yesterday to Michelin XM1+ 155/70/R13. Unfortunately this size doesn't find much mention in the forums although it is experts advised that to be the correct upsize for Wagon R.

I bought these from Sunny Tyres (Bill says Sunny Motors) in Sec 64 Noida. Costed me 2725 INR per wheel. 10900 for 4 tyres. When I go for rotation at 5000 Kms thats when I will buy my 5th tyre.

Customer service and all was good. Although their Credit Card machine doesn't work! No nitrogen filling available.

Haven't driven much after the change, just drove home from the shop but I did feel a little 'high' on these.

Will post more as i drive these. Any questions are welcome.

Hi Guys,

Got my Aug'09 WagonR DUO LXI upgraded to the tubeless Michelin XM1+ 155/60 R13 from the OE 145/70 R13 JK Tyres. Had done quite a bit of reseach on the upsize and tyres on T-BHP, with friends and couple of tyre dealers.

Took delivery of the car from Garuda Auto and went straight to Sai Iyengar across the road and exchanged all 5 tyres with 22 Kms on them. Cost was Rs.5000/- for exchange to Michelin XM1+, including removal of OE tyres, mounting the Michelins, nitrogen filling, balancing and fitting. Plus got the Michelin branded free Reebok Duffel bag

It's been 2500+kms of trouble free, smooth and silent running. The upsize and the tyre tread pattern resulted in slightly weighing up the steering which was welcome compared to the very light steering on the skinnier JK's. Road grip is good, even in the wet and ride quality and handling is up by couple of notches. Have done 3 trips which was mix of national & state highways plus village roads and speeds of upto 130 Kmph, with no issues. Would recommend both the upsize and the XM1+ for the WagonR.

Hi sats,

Are the size is 155/60 or 155/65 or 155/70. I don't think michelin has 155/60 profile in R13. Please post the pics too.
