Really?? Even in that case, you can see the gainers Nikhil, the price hikes announced across the board are hardly going to be taken back by the companies....

Michelin generally dont do that. Continental do offer the airlift option but it's ridiculously expensive. Costs almost 3,000 extra PER tyre!

As of now it stays unless there's a last minute reprieve from the Ministry but that looks highly unlikely.

Where are you guys getting tyres from now? I'm finding it absolutely impossible to find tyres for my M3. I was quoted 45,000 PER PS2 265/40-ZR18 97Y.

I'm thinking of going to Dubai next week and bringing back a set as my luggage. They cost 13,000 each there!

This looks like dealers will not longer be able to fulfill warranty obligations if the import of that specific non-ISI branded tyre model is stopped by the government.

Is that a correct assessment?

Yes. But the government will not stop any tyre model. In all likelihood, it will be done by the company itself. The AD07 is stopped. In the future, Yokohama is going to bring in only the AD08.

Seems like the requirement of ISI marking is causing shortage of stocks and the tire cost is going through the roof.

215/65/R16 (Bridgestone Dueller AT) purchased during January for 6.1K (before VAT). No longer available and the old stock is quoted for 7.8K. One dealer told the production of this size has seized!!!

235/60/R16 (Bridgestone Dueller AT) is not available with almost 5 dealers which I've checked.

235/60/R16 (Yokohama Geolandar) is available with only one dealer but quoting Rs.8800!!!..Phew!!!
