Unhappy rim size

hey guys...suggestions plz

I got a mpfi zen 2000 model
I recently got my tyres changed...upsize ones..from 145/80/12(MRF-zvts) to
165/65/13(B'STONE B350tubeless) with 4j stock zen carb rims(new)...
After the tyre change handling has improved...better cornering grip.
but braking has becoming very ordinary infact scary at high speeds..

I'm in doubt if this is all because of 4j rim...as minimum of 4.5j rim is
recommended for 165size tyre..
